Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Beach of Fortaleza is wonderful. After her retirement, she became even more enlightened and attractive. It has a few parking pockets - you must activate the schedule in the ZONA AZUL app to use the space, without being fined.
The place in addition to counting on several kiosks for drinks, meals and the like, it also has the traditional fair, academias, squares, skate track, area for use by cyclists, spigs that take you even closer to the open sea.
I love and recommend the tour for all ages.

Beira Mar Avenue is a place to relax, a place where you can walk all day, drinking a “caipirinha” (Brazilian national drink made with lime, sugar and cachaça) or a cold coconut water or just enjoy the scenery. It is not a long ocean walk; we can easily walk the whole avenue in less than 30 minutes. There are some restaurants, hotels, apartments buildings and shops along the way, but the best is the sceneries, the temperature and the breeze. What is really sad is that the water here is not good to swim. At sunset, at Meireles area of Beira Mar, there is a flea market, everyday, with lots of small shops where we can find every handiwork that Ceará manufactures. Enjoy the ride.

Stayed in Fortaleza for 7 weeks over the summer and can honestly say I spent around 80% of that time around Beira Mar. The beach is to die for, the markets that open at around sunset are amazing, and the food from the square is delicioso! The people are so lovely and the atmosphere is buzzing at any time of day.
The only I would say is that it can get very dangerous at night, which is normal in Brazil so just watch out, don't take out anything too valuable and you'll be fine.
Would definitely recommend Beira Mar to anyone that comes to Fortaleza!

Its very easy to be distracted in the market during the evenings. But this is a dangerous place. I was rushed from behind near Subway, held up with a gun pointing at my head, and my valuables demanded of me. When I said I didn't have anything, one of the late teen robbers grabbed my gold neck chain and yanked it with such force it cut my neck before snapping. They then ran onto the Meireles Beach to make their getaway, firing as they went.
Whilst the police took me to the station to make a report, the criminal suddenly became me as I was told it is illegal to walk without your passport. They threatened to deport me. All interest in the real villains had evaporated. I wonder how much they are paid by the gangs?
My Brasilian friends were mortified. They complain about the widespread corruption in Brasil. Additionally, an attempt was made to extract £7,000 from my current account while I was there, stopped only by the vigilance of HSBC fraud department. Thank you, HSBC.

This is the most busy area in Fortaleza, in the morning people running, walking or having a fresh coconut drink under the shade of trees. Safe and relaxed atmosphere except at night that becomes very noise.

The boulevard is close to some of the best located hotels in Fortaleza. It offers good opportunity to find something for the ones that stayed at home. Prices are very reasonable - even the barzinhos on the beach offer some good prices for drinks. Take bottled drinks since the experience we had was rather discouraging when ordering a caipirinha - little cachaça lots of water. Take a good hotel bar to get the best caipirinhas.
The stroll along the beach is about 500m - you can extend the walk up to the fish market where you can buy camarão (shrimp) for R$30 per kilo - have it prepared for another R$15.
A great sunset can be observed from the pier - after sunset the local market Freia Artisanale opens until 23:00hrs.

We just spent a week here and did not want to leave, people are great, scenery was awesome, food was just so good and the drinks were much better than expected. There was a lot of talk about security before our trip, but the people in that whole area depend on tourism and are more than welcoming everyone. You feel like a celebrity and there wasn't a day when we felt unwelcome. At first glance it looks like a beach in Mexico, but much cleaner and with more relaxed warmer people.
I can go on and on, but believe me, you just have to go. I've been to many places in different countries but this was our best vacation ever! Don't believe everything you read or hear.

This town is right on the ocean and built for a party. The weather is fantastic - much closer to the equator than Rio so even warmer ., the Avenue comes alive with hotels, restaurants, and shops. Spectacular for running and strolling .. love it!

Very busy avenue, intense trade on the waterfront, difficult to choose because there are many options with everything imaginable. Clothes, crafts, food... Always very busy, people go for a walk, buy, do outdoor activities... is worth knowing. The night is always full. The afternoon is more tranquil to walk and admire the waterfront. Special place to drink caipirinha and seafood.

Bonjour, je souhaiterais savoir si l'avenue Beira Mar est toujours en travaux. Si oui, savez quand la fin des travaux est-elle prévue svp?

O mar em frente ao hotel seara é bom para banho? E a localização do hotel também e Boa?
Written 28 January 2018

A avenida Beira Mar é mão inversa. Vc tem que subir a avenida Abolição e seguir em frente. É só seguir as placas indicativas que vc chega lá.
