Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Although this a main landmark for Jericoacoara, it is often floaded with tourists which really spoils any experience. Check for the best time to visit, otherwise you ould get into a tourist trap.

To reach this place on the beach is not so easy but I'm sure you'll be happy after doing this effort. Out of special photo you can make, it seems to be back at the origin of the world because nothing is changed from centuries over there. Amazing.

It’s possible to visit Pedra Furada by buggy or by organized tour that include also a stop at Pedra Furada, or as I made, by a long walk of more or less 45 minutes.
It require some effort to get there, especially during the hight tide, because you have to jump and cross rocks, and go up and down on dunes but the scenery is gorgeous, better to get water, hat and walk on swimsuit, especially if is a sunny day, Pedra Furada in itself it is not so exciting just a rock formation result of wind and water erosion just a spot for a pictures if you can find the space.....crowded of people doing selfie, better to go on sunset but will be more hard to come back late on that path. I enjoyed more the view walking along the path then the site in itself.

Pedra furada is a very nice place to go except the huge amount of people that go there, the walk is worth for those who appreciate a good view. Try very early times

There are a few ways to get to the Pedra Furada. We walk along the beach slowly and took us one hour from the Jericoacoara beach. Make sure you leave early (around 8:30) to take advantage of the tide. Leaving this time you don't need to walk through the rocks, but along the beach. In the afternoon the high tide doesn't allow walking along the beach. The other choices are less exciting, as along the beach the scenery is always amazing.

Great sunset in the middle of somewhere far far away.
The fun began walking from Jeri through the dunes and the beach under the blue sky with a strong wind.

It's a beautiful place! However be ready to a long walk through the beach and/or dunes, rocky hill and rocky beach under sun and strong wind! There is just a point to where the pick-up transfers are allowed to drive you! Most of the "tours places", leave you there and you even have to walk back to Jeri! We got a private driver that drove us there, waited at the top of the mountain until we walk back and forth to the Pedra Furada. It's beautiful, though!

Jeri beaches and lagoons are so splendid that you might think seeing Pedra Furada is not worth the hike. We went there in a daylong buggy ride, so the guide stopped a little less than a mile away (the closest place were veichles were allowed) and we could get there in an easy walk on the beach on the low tide.

I know it's not the biggest pierced rock in the world, but its setting is nontheless very beautiful. I didn't walk there from Jeri's village, but, from what I've seen and heard, you can see the rock from above if you choose this trek.

Pedra Furada is more beautiful in the morning, but, In july, the sun sets precisely behind it and can be seen through its hole, so in that case you should consider going there in the afternoon.

Easier to get to with an excursion. The guide will advise you not to take the walk to Pedra Furada if your physical condition is less than good, and you should take it. The fluffy sand makes it challenging to cross the path alongside the waves, there are a few small rocks to climb, and the sun can be unforgiving. If you are taking the walk, make sure to bring some water, cover your head and wear sunscreen. It's not a very long walk.
