We had a little extra time in Appleton on our day trip and thought we would check it out. Great thing we did. Had a great time, learned a lot and even made paper. The staff is top notch and helped with dinner ideas.

We're visiting from California and decided to pay a visit. What great fun I had! Really fun learning how paper is made and got to make some myself. My Dad who lives in Menasha wasn't even aware this was here!

After some previously made plans didn't pan out, I decided to be a tourist in my own town (actually nearby) and made a point of visiting this place explains why the paper industry is so strong here. Located next to a dam on the Fox River, the Discovery Center is in a beautiful repurposed and restored building. The exhibits talk about how paper is made as well as innovations in the paper industry. Kids will love to hear about toilet paper and what was used prior to its development. There's even a mock-up of an outhouse with stuff formerly used for wipes, corn cob, lace, coconut shell, wool, etc. Kids and adults will also like making their own decorative paper.…
