Didn't have anything on their website about the train being serviced the one day of the month we arrived to do it. Heard great things, but super annoying that I checked the website before I left the hostel and they had no warnings that it...More

The view was incredible, but even in the "executive" cabin, the seats were old and uncomfortable for the 3.5 hours trip. The restaurant in our package "Emporio" was only okay, nothing memorable. It is something to do once in a lifetime, no more.

The scenery from the train is really very nice. However, I personally would enjoy it much better to do it in a way that would allow me to enjoy a particular piece of it, to breathe the air of the woods, and to have my...More

It took a long time to get out of town and into the real scenery. This is not an 'Express' train. In each carriage someone gives a voice over of what we were seeing (but we don't speak Portuguese so I really have no idea...More

First tip: make sure you get an English speaking guide or you will spend all day with a blank stare and looking around confused. Second tip: Your comfort and seat on the train depends on the amount you pay. Third tip: Spend the extra little...More

An amazing and unique trip into the Atlantic rainforest. Incredible views of a really beautiful part of Brazil. Sadly, 50% of the workers who built this track died in the process. The tour guide spoke only Portuguese but I didn't find it a problem just...More

I love nature and the Serra Verde goes through some beautiful mountains. Still, I rate it as a 1 because it is not a good value for the time and cost involved. It is $66 U.S. round trip. You ride the train for 3 hours...More
