We were surprised that the experience wasn’t better. For us eating at Brazilian restaurants I felt like I didn’t have a very good variety of meats. I think I only saw like five meats, and one of the meat was so fatty, the meat was good when you could away all the fat. I felt like it was a golden corral restaurant version of the Brazilian buffet. We I thought there were a lot of choices but not so appealing. Our waiter was like a bull in a China shop, he’s kind a large, kind of aggressive, and he keep running into our chairs and table. The show was okay, not spectacular, I have to admit, I did love the costumes. It’s kind of one of those things that you did it once, and that was enough. I think it would be best if you did it on a rainy day. NOT sure if I’d do it again.

My husband and I attended a dinner with some Brazilian friends at Rafain during a recent visit. to Foz do Iguacu We were a little worried that it would be cheesy, but it ended up being an enjoyable evening.

The place is easy to find. If you are there to visit the Cataratas, which most people are, it is right on the way. Our friends made the arrangements, but we assume that you have to make reservations. We received a discount because they knew the manager, but they told us that it is regularly R$50 per person, which is about US$25. I'm not sure if this included drink though. It is a great deal for the food and the show, however.

The buffet was very good. There was a wonderful cold bar with all types of salads including a little sushi. There was a pasta bar with spaghettis, lasagna and gnocchi. There were rices, beans and other sides. Then, of course, a huge selection of meats - Brazilian style. The desserts included many flans and mousses typical for Brazil.

Just be prepared because the place is packed. We were there on a Saturday and you could barely move around at the buffet. We would suggest getting there early to eat before the crowds and large tour buses come in. Then you can sit, relax and drink until the show.

The show featured different dances and traditions of various South American countries. It was interesting to watch and we really enjoyed it. They did a good job of keeping it interesting.

We'd recommend this place for a great evening out to get a little taste of culture. We plan to return with the guests who visit us during our 2 year stay in Brazil.

We were staying at Iguassu falls as part of a package tour and initially had not planned to take this optional dinner and show as we thought it very expensive for possibly something that was going to be a cheesy, touristy stage show, with ordinary food. Our tour manager continued to recommend it and as there was only the option of eating in the hotel that night we decided to go. We are glad we did as we really enjoyed it. Our tour group had tables right in front of the stage and had a great view. You are squeezed in tightly and so don't plan on making multiple trips to the buffet. We got there early so it was not too busy at the buffet and we had time to eat our meal without rushing. There was a huge selection of food and generally it was quite good, though we did find the roasted meat a bit tough. The cultural show was good, giving us a snapshot of the costumes, dances, music and songs from different countries and we enjoyed it all.

Heads up, this is one full-blown tourist trap! Avoid it like the plague!

Seems as thought their main reason for being is to cater to tour busses while purporting to provide a true Churrascarria (epic fail) and a floor show highlighting various countries of South America (mind-numbingly loud and went on for a little over 2 hours).

As someone else mentioned. it's much closer to a Golden Corral than a true Churrascaria. Food didn't come to you, you went to it, then back to long, cramped, communal tables. Waiters brought drinks and water (all of which are extra charge) except when they couldn't be bothered. And honestly, I've had much better meat at Golden Corral, Hometown Buffet and the like. At the end of the 'show' the waiters suddenly appear to collect for drinks, which forces everyone to wait even longer to get out.

How bad was the show? About a half an
hour in I was forced to make a tough decision - stay inside where it was cool, but painfully and unceasingly loud. Or go outside into the heat, humidity and mosquitoes.

I chose the bugs.

The food is very average, mass produced buffet style and the dancing is ok if you can actually see it but the biggest surprise of Rafain was finding out later that our credit card details had been copied by staff and then used for a USD5,000 shopping spree. Beware at all costs!

We booked this online before we left home. It was very easy and included in our booking was pick up and return to our hotel. The dancers were authentic and extremely talented. The buffet was huge with international dishes and hand carved meats that melted in your mouth. The waiters were top notch and to drink Rafain's own crafted beer was amazing. It was a wonderful evening!

In February 2010 relatives wanted to show me Attraction Argentina and
Brazil. We came to watch the Iguazu Waterfalls. After a busy day
experience over the waterfalls in the evening we went to a restaurant
Rafain. I was skeptical about this idea. When
I saw how many people are inside, discouraged
even more. However, the dishes served in buffet
table, grilled meat, wine, and the whole atmosphere of this place
She took me very much. In Poland there are no such shows no such
type of restaurant. I was so excited, seeing and hearing the local
music and dancing. We paid cash, so I have no experience with
credit cards. Despite initial skepticism, I
stated that I would recommend this place.

I loved the Rafain Show...great energy and there was a lot of variety in the acts: dancers representing each of the South American countries, crazy samba dudes, gorgeous Carnival dancers, guitar players and more, it was a lot of fun. We didn't include the churrascaria dinner but it was a huge buffet and looked pretty good. A nice and relatively cheap way to spend the evening!

Long queue to get your dinner and the meat is not of that good quality. Salad is good and the entertainment is passable. If nothing to do in Iguassu, a good way to pass time otherwise don't waste your money.

If you travel to Foz do Iguaçu and miss your chance to eat at Rafain and see their musical dance show you may have passed on the most exciting espetáculo other than the amazing waterfall itself.
The food is world-class, taking the best from everything Brazilian in food choice, quality, appearance, and taste in this beautiful buffet-style, Rodizio restaurant. About the time you reach down to lengthen your belt a notch or two, the show begins common featuring dances and music from almost everywhere in Central and South America. But be sure to save a little room for dessert. If you have another notch left in your belt, choose from a selection of delicious sobremesas e sorvetes bem gostosos. Don't miss it!
