Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It's really a pool with no waves whatsoever specially during low tide. The coral reef barrier leaves a pretty nice pool. Ideal for safely bring kids to the water. You can practice Stand up paddle and kayak.
Parking can be messy but there is a free area up the road with shade even.

Muro Alto is an extraordinary beach, almost private for those who are at the resorts in the area. The water is warm, however you should be careful with the coral reefs, because of the sea urchins that are very common there. Almost at the end of the beach there´s a very nice area in front of Nannai Resort Hotel where you can swim or ride in kaiaks. It's worthed the visit.

There's a Muro Alto beach where everyone hangs out. It's not bad. The water is nice, good for kids. Lots of bars/restaurants. Food is okay. We liked the fact that they had restrooms and showers.
Now, there's another part of Muro Alto that has no bars and no crowds. That one is calm and beautiful. A little harder to get to for you need a buggy to go on the sand.

Dirty and noisy and ugly, don’t bother going there. The quad ride is short and not fun at all, basically a rip off.

This beach is very beautiful and peaceful. We really enjoyed our vacation in this small town. The beach was clean and not crowded, on the day my husband and I visited. There are areas to take really beautiful photos. If you need some rest and relaxation, this is the beach to go to.

Went to Muro Alto in a rental car and parked in a shaded area but be careful because the sand and if you don't have 4 wheel drive you could get stuck but there are guys to help for a price of course. I loved the beach and how calm and warm the water was. The deepest the water gets is chest high. There's a huge reef that runs parallel to the beach and you can climb up and see the ocean but the rocks are sharp. I totally recommend going to this place for a relaxing time.

Being quite shallow and with no waves, the water is very warm. Lovely beach to try out kayaking and stand up paddle boarding without the added challenge of dealing with waves.

Also nice to do snorkelling by the coral reef.
