Brazil's biggest national park. Greatly preserved wall painting, ranging from 5 to 30 000 years old. Great guides as well, incredibly empty and clean. Not to be missed, especially since it's probably closing soon. What a government Brazil has at the moment.

Amazing place. Very few tourists. Clean, organized, full of things to see and trails to walk. One can watch the birds and monkeys and if you are really lucky, bump into a leopard! The tree colors in late June are beautiful. Bring sunblock, hat, good walking shoes and plenty of water. Very little is known about the prehistorical people who... More

Simply one of my favourite places in Piauí. A very accessible place with very competent guides to walk you through the process. Be sure to keep your bottle of water at hand. The weather is very dry and very hot. It's not so difficult to climb some of the rocks, so even if you're not a hard-core climber, you'll have... More

The best way to arrive at Raimundo Nonato ( when you can stay in order to visit daytime the Serra Capivara is to arrive at Petrolina( Pernambuc) and then you 'll have 3ou 4 hours drive until the city. ( maybe the airport of Raimundo Nonato will be used some day ( it has been inaugurated in 2014 !) you... More

In the state of Piauí, in a very isolated area the "Serra da Capivara" national park has an amazing organization and really nicely taken care of. They have some Amazing Rupreste paintings with some carbon evidences of the population who lived on the area with more than 40 thousand years... It could mean that this region has evidences of the... Breathtaking landscapes, endemic wildlife and the mysteries of the human occupation of the South American continent. Thanks to the great efforts of FUMDHAM (Niede Guidon and team), this is arguably Brazil's best National Park. It is, of course, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This amazing place is so well presented through well kept trails, good interpretation and well trained guides.... More

As a Brazilian interested in my country's wealth, I could hardly begin to imagine I would find such a dazzling place in one of the hottest and most underrated states in Brazil (Piauí). My visit to Serra da Capivara came as a great surprise and I enjoyed every minute of it. Those cave paintings and pre-historic findings are a priceless... More

Amongst the most dazzling natural and historical sights in the world. The rocky formations, the parietal art made by people who lived tens of thousands of years ago, the hikes through the unique Brazilian biome known as Caatinga, everything compounds into an unforgettable experience. Though hard to reach (with no airport within a 300 km radius), the park is well... More

this park is well kept, as well as is possible to keep such a big area and complex wild structure. Deserves a full day visit, all trials explored. Weather is incredibly hot on summer, and hot all year around, be prepared since Piaui is the hottest state in Brazil. I would advise to walk every inch on that, every place... More

Reserve 2 or 3 days to visit the park. Most of the attraction you visit by car. I loved. Really beautiful, organized and clean park.
