Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

"Ilha da Gipóia" has been known, for many many years, as a high-end top destination! The island is almost entirely occupied by fantastic private mansions and beaches. Getting an invitation to it means that your hosts are certainly among the rich, famous and happy landlords of this dream island. Nevertheless, there is a beach at "Ilha da Gipóia", known as "Praia do Dentista", that may be attended by the public in general. Tourist boats bring guests from "Angra dos Reis" to "Praia do Dentista" to enjoy the day at its beautiful and calm waters. Another boat caters for meals and drinks. Music comes from the many other boats anchored at the beach ... And the party goes on! Enjoy!

We loved this island and praia do dentista- one of the most beautiful of the islands. We went early am so not a lot of boats and we felt like we had the whole island to ourselves. Walk out on the giant palm tree and take some pics. The nature Looks like something out giligans island - very exotic and beautiful.

One of the best places I have been in Brasil. Calm water, perfect for children, nice views, friendly people. You can drink or buy local food. but no restaurants or services in the island.

Just stopped there for lunch, whilst on a boat trip. Restaurant was excellent. We ate a fish dish " Portuguese style" which the menu said would feed 2 people... Pity we hadn't 2 MORE people with us, the portions were so huge!!

I think the beaches were nicer than those in ilha Grande. However, both are great places to viist. I went during low season, so that helped as well.

If you are looking for an out of the way, lovely beach, this could be it. There are a few private cabins around the water and a boat pier, but that's about it. The water is warm and you can just float and relax. A few boats may stop but it's just calm and serene.

too many tourists and boats. It is just another island of the beaten track. There certainly are nicer beaches around the corner
