Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice place probably the most popular within 100km to enjoy the sunset.
Full of clubs and restaurants quite posh with and without sea views, almost all with live music. They all speak at least fluent English. In November everything is already decorated and lit for Christmas. Visiting it is a must if you are nearby.
Let's be clear that it is not the real Brazil, but a glimpse of the luxury one.

Beautiful, clean, very pleasant place. We were very well received at Belli Forneria. Attendants score 1,000. Wonderful pizza and super cold beer at a fair price. I highly recommend it and come back easily. Beautiful place!

I always go there to several places, one of them is the Golden Market, I buy my wines and sometimes other drinks and cheeses, I always get very good service there. There are 2 sommeliers, one more sedate and good at chatting and the other more European, seriously intelligent, they are both very nice people. . Ever since they renovated that wine cellar, I have become a loyal customer.

We were at a close by hotel, so just wen't there to have I bite and we found this beautiful chill out spot wut many bars and restaurants (many still not open). There is a wooden deck all over the place with LEDs that show the paths around. there is a small lagoon with trees. Very nice spot away from crowded Rua das Pedras!

We really enjoyed walking on the pier, then we sat in one of the bars by the water and had some sacks. Worth the visit and you can take a ban for the center for 2.7 reals instead of a taxi. Super safe place and gorgeous view.

PB is amazing only in Brazil would someone build a fabulous sea front development full of restaurants etc but from the road make it look like a shabby car park ... I visited here 5 times before a Brasilian local sent me ther !... Atapus ...Anexao ... Shops , a fish market , fab cafes and now Armazem Theresopolis ... This is a bar BUT is sells Chopp ( pronounced shoppeee) that's fresh unpasteurised... It has no preservatives so very pure lager very chilled in tap ... So if you are in Buzios take a taxi one night there ... Have a shoppee ... Eat somewhere nice ... I like Atapus best but Dona Jo is good , Casa Cais . The sushi restaurant is a rodizio... All you can eat and it's right next to the fish market so ... Very good !

Many good restaurants and lounge bars. Great area for a happy hour and/or lunch/dinner. Try Bar dos Pescadores and/or Cais de Gaia (portuguese restaurant).

I expected the place to be more fashionable, the kind of business located there promised that, but no, I just got a comfortable access to the very narrow beach, and not much more than that

Wish I ll go back for 4th time in this 2013.

Porto Bay hotel is a really good place to stay in Buzios. We recently stayed for 4 nights & overall found it a good base.
+ The location is good - you can easily walk to some fab beaches (especially Brava beach) & into the town centre where there are lots of bars & restaurants.
+ the views from the hotel are stunning
+ the hotel layout & style is nice
+ the pool area is fab
+ the rooms are spacious & air con good
Things to improve are:
- the bathroom in our room was rather ‘tired’
- whilst we can understand that the bar is limited - with town do close- we found the breakfast poor - a very limited choice.
Overall a fab stay though

How far is this from where cruise liners berth in Buzios please? How do we get here?
Written 19 November 2017
THE best way to go is by Uber (taxi there is more expensive). It is a 10 minute drive, maybe less, depending on the traffic.
