Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A stunning beach on the atlantic side of the island. Inside the protected national park only camping is allowed in certain spots on the beach - the rest is unspoilt. Just a gorgeous setting - white sand beaches for miles. Lots of young(-ish) hipster crowds stay in the camp sites. They have a great time with rasta music etc. Seems great for a stay if you are the backpacking type. Unfortunately they also leave behind plastic bottles and other trash under the trees on the beach - get your act totgether! these are not poor ignorant kids , but well educated spoiled brats who should know better. Dont ruin a truely beautiful spot on earth - take your trash with you!

We loved Ilha Grande, it's realy paradise and anybody can find something interesting on it for himself. If you like active timespending you can do an amazing hike around the island and visit amost of its beaches, icluding absolutely beautiful Aventureiro beach, unspoilt place for real adventure seekers, pristine beach, warm water, dense jungle around and wonderful night sky! We did 5-day hike around the island and easily could spent more time there! If you have a tent you'll save a lot and be more flexible in where to stay, the island can be done with a small budget. Highly recommended for all tipe of travellers.
PS. More info on the island, how to get there, where to stay, different routes, prices and photos of many beaches you can find by googling "Stingy Nomads Ilha Grande"

This is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to. We went there on a boat trip from Vermelha beach and had three hours there. We paid 70 RS for a day trip with a stop on Aventuiero and another beach. Definitely worth it. I strongly recommend going to Aventueiro if you find yourself on Ilha Granda. My only regret was that I hadn’t booked a pousada there.

My favorite, definetely.
It's just so charming, there is this little church, and there aren't many people....paradisiacal.

Praia do Aventureiro was the highlight of our honeymoon in Brazil. We hired a boat for a daytrip there from our villa on Praia Vermelha. This is a very long, jawdroppingly beautiful white-sand beach on the south side of the island. Because it is so remote, you'll have the beach almost all to yourself. It's great for suntanning, relaxing with a book, taking photos or surfing (you can rent a surfboard at the beach). We were lucky enough to have two Magellanic penguins waddle onto the beach and let us pet them.

Be forewarned, however, that there are no bathroom facilities, and your food options are limited (though you can find someone to cook you a basic meal if you ask around). In addition, the beach is on the southern, Atlantic side of Ilha Grande so if you're sailing to the beach (your only other option is to hike in), you'll likely be in for a very choppy ride — but if you can stomach a little seasickness, it's well worth the trip.

Beautiful beach but there is a pipe letting sewage into the sea, spoiling what is otherwise a spectacular beach. There is a simple restaurant on the beach where you can get fish and chips.

The water was clear and there were fish to see so it was good for snorkelling and swimming. No facilities like bars or toilets so it really is just a pitstop.

very clean and very different beaches but it is difficult or expensive to get there. You can get there by renting boat-taxi but you will pay 140 R$ one way.
By walk - 2-3 h minimum. My recommendation to have a tour.

The beach is beautiful. There is a cool lookout up on a huge boulder that offers a nice view of the beach on the right side of the beach (when looking out towards the ocean) and right before it there is a path to a deck where you can swim and snorkel, lot's of nice fish to see. Also around here there is a 20m trail up to a viewpoint that has an spectacular view of the beach. Totally worth visiting, also the beach is famous for one of it's peculiar shaped palm trees, but there is so much more to it than only that.
