The figures are amazing! You get to the point you forget they are being handled by humans :) I was disappointed with the fact that it doesn't have a story! They are small pieces of 3 - 5 minutes each, but they are not related! We went based on the reviews, but if I could go back I would not... More

An amazingly bad way to spend an hour. There were 2 good things: the show only lasted an hour, and the theatre was not unbearably hot. The show consists of 2 actors dressed in black with their faces covered, slowly manipulating small puppets through a series of acts that are unpleasant (such as a suicide), dumb (such as a puppet... A pretty small theatre in the centre of Paraty, we were advised it was worth seeing. The theatre is small about 50 people and when we booked she recommended we had front row seats to see the movement of the puppets faces. The show was extraordinary,, it is done by a man and woman , dressed in black and they... More

A very intimate setting , interesting show and kept us entertained the whole time. The bath washing scene was out favorite . It is a small, dark and very quiet setting, very unique and nice unless... You you suffer for hysterical laughter as my mom and I do in such settings, OMG, we couldn't even look at each other the... More

Beautiful stories told with an amazing set of old time puppets. Emotional and dramatic, they will make you feel the full array of emotions from happiness and laughter to extreme sadness and unexpected shock and a definite when in paraty. Appropriate for singles, couples and families... fully recommended.

FANTASTIC show! Simple but so exquisitely different and delicate. The puppets are made to perfection and the manipulators make them seem so incredibly life like! Make sure you book ahead at a tourist shop ( we booked with the one behind the church with the plaza in the old town) it costs R40 each. Our hostel was selling them for... More

This marvellous puppetry piece is a must do in Paraty. We are avid theatre goers and this exceeded our expectations. The show goes for one hour and is made up of 7 short stories. It is literally breathtaking, almost to the point that it is surreal as the puppet masters make the puppets look like real people from wiping away... More

Wonderful series of character vignettes told in a theatrical and engaging way. Magical: even when you know it is simply articulated dolls manipulated by two actors, you can't help believing that they are individual characters with deep and meaningful stories to tell. Book early- it's an intimate theatre and it was full.

We should confess we did expected more. But it is a very unique Theater, with soul and very strong messages. They are simple, so simple that sometimes borders on the amateurish, but this theater group impresses and thrills for the content of a performance with strong emotional content. Worth it.
