Hello, for these trails you don't need hiking boots. Running shoes or athletic choes will be fine. The Claudio Coutinho is not a trail, it's a road closed for cars and you walk at the basis of the Sugar Loaf. For this walk you don't need a tour service, cause it's very easy to access the place using public transportation. The Tijuca National Park it's a big area, with many different trails and the access to the park is not so easy. You can do hikes at Tijuca by yourself, but is recommended to go to the visitors center to get full and detailed information. Several companies offer hiking tours there, providing transportation, tour guide etc, and our company is one of them. Regards, Anna
