Beautiful view of Rio!!! I recommended to go with footwear (slippers, flip flops). We went up in a combi and then we walked for 1 hour. It is very tiring but worth it, the view is spectacular. I do not recommend going with children or on cloudy days to check the weather before.

We visited the mountain here as part of the "real" favela tour organised by Aurora Hostel (as opposed to the tourist agency government propaganda ripoff safari tours), visiting from the adjacent favela around midday. The favela is an easy walk from Leblon beach, just past Sheraton's monstrosity, and you can either walk through the favela up the hill or take a Moto taxi up to the park where the nature trail begins. The trail is a good 45minute hike (if you're fit) up the mountain, with a lot of steep climbs and some occasional slippery paths. It is recommended not to try it at all if it has been raining. Nature is rife up the trail, and if you are lucky (and bring some fruit with you) you could get lucky enough to see some monkeys on your way. Alternatively, even more rarely, snakes have been known to inhabit some of the trees about midway up. Towards the summit, the plant life gets increasingly more compact, making the walk a bit difficult, but at the top you are rewarded with a flat rocky plateau with panoramic views all over the south side of Rio, from Copacabana beach to Rocinha favela. Absolutely, this mountain climb is a must do for nature and hiking lovers, and the view is even more spectacular than the one from Sugarloaf or Corcovado.…

Got a taxi to the start of the Favela where there are lots of police and motor taxi drivers who who’ll charge 5 real to take you to the start of the trail. Didn’t feel unsafe at any point. You then walk alongside the left hand side of an old football pitch and enter the unsignposted trail. 45m walk to the top, mostly on rocks and with lots of bushes but not too strenuous. You might see small Monkeys if you’re lucky, incredible view from the top. …

Seems to be easy and close, but the first issue is how to get to the base of the hill. Taxi will drive you to one spot at the begging of favela. From there on only option to get to the start of he hill trial is to take local driver. Local driver will take you there in 5 min drive by motorbike for 5 reals (1.25 USD) one way. When you reach the spot it will take you 40-50 min uphill walk to the top of the Two Brother. Check weather before, because clouds can easily block your view over the city and hiking will be for nothing. The hike is light to moderate. Last part is bit difficult but be sure that you have right shoes. On some spots be careful not to walk on the edge. It is recommended to have local guy with you. …
