Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We accidentally discovered this nice beach - so close to Rio's city but away from their madness.... - when we picked a friend up after an activity.
We decided to stay longer to enjoy the nice waves and the view. Did not regret it

This beach is lovely and not very crowded. We learned it is not good to go into the water here due to sewage issues. We really enjoyed watching the parasailers and paragliders landing on this beach since this is their designated landing spot.

Like most of Rio, you need to keep an eye on your valuables, but since this is less crowded than most of the beaches, we felt safer here.

Pepino beach in Sao Conrado is one of the nicest beaches in Rio. It is not as crowded as Ipanema, Copacabana and Leblon, and it is closer to the Centre of Rio than the beach in Barra da Tijuca. It is a good option.

This could be easily Rio's best beach, if not for the tons of raw sewage spilled here.

Pepino is one of the most wonderful beaches of Rio, but pollution is absolutely unbearable. It is nice to have a look but do not dare to go into the water.
