The Arporador Beach is close and not crowded. Nor are there many pesky vendors or thieves. It is cleaner. The only thing it does not have are the sand carvings.

My friends and I stayed at an Airbnb in Leme and walked just 5 mins to the beach. Although it was cloudy and close to sunset, we had so much fun playing soccer in the sand and playing in the waves. The waves were the...More

It’s an historic beach, you’ll hum a tune the whole time you’re there. Clean, safe, it’s a popular tourist attraction. Visit in the evening for the flea market and great deals. Beautiful sand, but the water’s cold.

Crowded, backed by a noisy main road with an unhealthy surfeit of car emissions, with constant interference from hawkers and deckchair renters. Backed by bars and the constant presence of thieves and pickpockets, what’s not to like? Rio is a lively and interesting city but...More

Copacabana has everything you have heard: long beach, lots of people, great people-watching, street vendors selling all kinds of cheap souvenirs. You should definitely visit it to see it, but if you are after a good beach to get some wave action, water fun and...More

Nice to take a car trip or bicycle trip along the beach and the palm groves but the Bech itself is filled with all the people who dare not show themselves by Ipanema. The waves were frothy by urine and debris, smelling unpleasant. No, not...More

Great to walk on this incredible beach. Very long and wide with amazing sand. Hire a chair and umbrella for about 4 dollars and watch the world pass you by. Drinks and food can also be ordered from people who rent the chairs as well...More

Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional
and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood
is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and
traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of
everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs,
chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and
more live side-by-side. There are options for all
price points and tastes. However, the most powerful

Hello! The water is safe from a health perspective, but be aware that the sea is rough, with strong waves and tides. It gets deep abruptly, so you have to be alert. Enjoy also a nice walk on the famous sidewalk, have a... More
