Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a good beach for people that want to avoid the chaos of the main Rio beaches as it is in a more residential area. There are plenty of bars/kiosks along the edge of the beach but not many places for proper food. Some reviewers have mentioned that it isn't clean. This wasn't my experience at all.

This nice and exotic beach between two riffs in the city offers some spectacular views of the sea and the riffs, which is typical of Rio. Some nice activity goes around, with some radical flying sports. However, some issues: most of the beach is polluted because of the sewers that come from rocinha shanty town directly to the sea, and some insecurity issues, for the same reason. This is unfortunate but it is a common fact in this town. Shame on the authorities!

Sao Conrado is a beach located between the south Zone of Rio and west zone!
Its a quiet and easy access beach which have plenty of parking. On the Right side there is the famous Pepino beach well known for the handling or asa delta and parapente or parachutes .Also in one of the beach quiosques, they have the best acai in rio .So is a good option for a sunny day!!!

If you come from Barra da Tijuca you can stop and watch the paragliders and hang gliders just where the beach starts. It's not so crowded like Barra da Tijuca or Copacabana but be careful where you decide to put your things because the area on the left looking at the Ocean is full of inhabitants of nearby favela. Next time we will be here we will try the paragliding.

past Ipanema is this small beach, mostly with locals and a very chill atmosphere. It is one of the places where the hang-gliders land too. Alot of pollution in the water so dont go to the water there, but a great scene to play at the beach.

Pretty pics though. Fun.

My wife and I talked 3 more in our Gate 1 tour group to join us on our adventure of a lifetime. In fact we flew separately with Konrad who told us of his exploits and I thought 'yeah, sure!' but it was all true. He imparted his confidence and sense of fun to us and it was like being a bird. I jumped with him off the edge of the platform 2200 feet up over the beach and we flew back and forth over the land then over the Atlantic. The landing was perfect in the soft sand. Only 2 heart-pounding moments: jumping off and landing at what seemed to be 60mph, slowed instantly when you raise the nose. There is a mini cam facing you on the glider and to your side. You can have chips with both movies. I'd do it again in a heartbeat! Saw nothing that spoiled the beach and Konrad was ideal. This is a must on a trip to Rio - and yes, we do get out much!!

Nice beach, much quieter than Copacabana and Ipanema. The main reason people visit is to go hang gliding or paragliding. It's a great landing spot if you doing some gliding and a great observation spot if your not

I have visited this beach many times over the years and have been so amazed by the view of the Pedra da gavea mountain and all the green surrounding the beach . it's a shame thatcthe government let this beach whitout a proper sewer . Because wen the water is clear its almost blue. I do recommend a nice walt to the far end called Pepino to watch the parapents and the Asa deltas arriving at the sand.
