What a great little journey over the converted aqueduct up into the area of Santa Teresa. The tram ride is reminiscent of an old style roller coaster, a little jerky, but thoroughly enjoyable. The people we met on our 20 mins journey to the end...More

Take an old style trolley from the Centro district to get up the hill of Santa Teresa. The station (Estação dos Bondes de Santa Teresa) is only a block and half from Teatro Municipalle. We went on a Saturday and had to wait about 30...More

We waited nearly an hour to get on a tram. Whilst the views are good from the top it goes through some rough areas on the way. It was raining when we went which may of dampened our experience.

I used to ride on this tram for free I'm not sure why, maybe because I was a tourist but it's well worth the ride if you're headed in the direction of Carioca metro station which is just around the corner if you take a...More

Better to pay a cab or private ride service than to pay R$20 for less than a 30-minute ride, as you at least have the chance to hear something about the area, as there's no touristic guides on the ride. If the aim os to...More

Downtown Rio is the place where this city was born.
With modern skyscrapers sharing space with historical
buildings and landmarks, this neighbourhood is living
proof that the old and the new can live together
harmoniously. As you would expect, downtown is where
all major companies house their offices. However, the
region isn’t restricted to businesses. Gems such like
the “Paço Imperial,” which is a cultural centre that
