All three restaurants by Chef Roberta Ciasca in Rio are great options for locals and visitors. MIRA is particularly well located, as one can also visit Casa Daros after/before lunch/dinner. You can expect fresh salads, carefuly prepared dishes, unexpected drinks and amazing "sobremesas"... If you have time, also try OUI OUI and MIAM MIAM!

Loved Casa Daros - beautiful space and beautiful - some cool installation art and also has a great restaurant and shop! Often cool events going on in the central courtyard as well!

Nice exhibitions, and beautiful place, but the staff can't handle the visitors. Once inside the exhibition area i saw a lot of people touching the artworks and others speaking really loud, without a decent staff training they shouldn't be able to resist time. The café serves good tea and food, bit it's quite expensive and, again, the staff doesn't deliver...... More

Daros Latinamerica, a very important Zurich based swiss foundation, with a magnificent collection of contemporary latin-american art, has opened its branch in Rio de Janeiro almost a year ago. And that's excellent news for a city (and a country, of course) so poor of initiatives like that. The new museum occupies a neoclassic building from the 19th Century, with beautiful... More

Fortunately a swiss group came to Rio to rescue one building of its total ruin. Just that the Casa Daros has really to offer. The facilities do not show anything else that has not have successively seen in some other shows, but retains much of this priceless local Botafogo. The guides present, besides having a bad appearance, yet not revealed... More

Staying in Botafogo

Neighbourhood Profile
Botafogo
In recent years, Botafogo has become one of the hottest neighbourhoods in Rio. It hosts many modern restaurants with contemporary food and many venues to listen to rock and electronic music. Its numerous bars and pubs make this area a great choice for anyone interested in a great nightlife experience - in fact, some bars in the area are open all night. Casa Daros, an art museum that showcases amazing artists from Latin America, is a must see located in a historical building in Botafogo.
