Don't miss this place !

Not an easy climb for everyone, but you get to enjoy excellent views of Copacabana and Sugarloaf mountain. And on your way you meet plenty of friendly Mico monkeys :)

You enter through a military compound. It will cost you a small fee to enter- Even though there is a cobble stone path drivable by car, you are not allowed to drive up to the fort. The walk will take you approximately 15 minutes. From the fort you have almost a 360 degrees view with Copacabana below and the statue... More

This is not a well advertised place to go but in my opinion it beats the sugar loaf mountain. It's easy to get to, no line up, and not too many people in the way while you take panorama picture of the awesome view, from copacabana beach to christ the redeemer, sugarloaf mtn and other islands. The admission is 4... More

An easy hike up to the top where you will probably pass by marmosets and military personnel, it offers a lovely view of Copacabana beach and the Sugar Loaf mountain.

Beaches are cool, but forts are cooler! Worth the trip up to see this one, great views from the top of Copacabana, Christ the Redeemer and the Sugar Loaf. Went at about 10am, spent a couple of hours there in total (including the walk up). Very quite, lovely walk - lots of Marmosets on the way up, if you sit... More

This is a nice place to visit. I've been there with my kids (14 and 10 years old). We enjoyed a lot the moderate walk uphill with lots of nature and a view of the ocean. On the top you can contemplate all the extension of Copacabana Beach. The tickets are really cheap (around 2 dollars).

Cost 2 real to get in, Uphill walk of about 20 min to one of the best view of Copacabana. I went right when it opened at 0930 and almost had the place to myself. lots of marmosets to see as well along with some military exhibits.

After several years leaving in Rio, I've finally visited the fort. I don't understand why the place is not as popular as other turistic attractions in Rio. The place is indeed a bit more remote than copacabana fort, but it is still of easy access. You buy at ticket (~6reais) at a ticket station at the end of leme beach... More

The entrance is at the end of Copacabana, at the foot of Morro do Leme, you´ll have to pay 4BRL to get into the military fort. Then, it´s a great walk through the beautiful forest, you´ll see lizards, monkeys and plenty of birds! From the top, you´ll enjoy fantastic views over Copacabana, Ipanema, the mountain of the Two Brothers (Morro... More
