I would 100% recommend Rio Tandem! The whole experience from beginning to end was great. Daniel, one of our pilots, was very responsive over WhatsApp, giving us all the information we needed when booking. Once we arrived, the registration process was quick and simple with no real queues to get in the air. Daniel in particular was amazing - my husband has a fear of heights (and almost refused to do it!) but was immediately put at ease by Daniel who had a calm, fun and friendly manner. A couple of tips: (1) Book directly with the pilots via the Rio Tandem website. There were some people at the site who had booked with tour agencies or drivers but when they arrived had not been assigned pilots (this is because agencies and drivers will say yes and then figure out finding a pilot later, which cannot always be done!); and (2) Avoid going during Carnival - we went just after and there were no issues but heard that the Carnival period was so busy that it sometimes led to 2-3hr wait times for take off!

We booked paragliding flights with Riotandem and they were absolutely brilliant. Daniel and Claudio were superb. They are both very professional and we felt totally safe in their hands. The flights were incredible. Stunning views of Rio. It was really easy to transfer the footage and it’s worth the extra for the 360 degree camera footage.
Everything was brilliant and we would recommend Riotandem completely. If you are in Rio and thinking of going paragliding then think no longer. Go for it and make sure you go with Riotandem.

Both my wife and I used this company on different days because one of us need to watch our son. We had different guides and we were both extremely pleased with ours. They were both very informative, high energy, friendly, and considerate. I know this was especially important for my wife who was very nervous before and during take off. We highly recommend this company!

We arranged to go paragliding with Daniel on a Saturday morning at 8am. On the day we arrived at the agreed meeting point at 7.50, but Daniel never turned up. We tried to message and call, but no response.
There were lots of other people offering paragliding there, but they didn't want to let us go with them when we'd already reserved with someone else. So it would have been better if we hadn't reserved and had just turned up on the day.
Eventually after more than an hour of waiting someone there finally agreed to take us. The paragliding was amazing, and definitely worth doing! Just don't bother booking with Daniel as he might just not show up and we never received any apology or anything.

We apologise for the delay and lack communication on the day of your flight.
As I was out of town on that day, you where booked with another team pilot who was late for your 8am booking (and that is unacceptable). Our staff who was present had other clientes but we did however manage to arrange you another pilot, signing you up for your flight on the clubs system by 8:27am.
The sale of tandem flights by individuals around the São Conrado beach area isn't allowed, flights must be booked in advance with a flight school, or directly at the São Conrado Flight Club office. I am glad to know that in the end you flied with a certified instructor appropriately registered at the flight club.
Once again I am very sorry for the delay, and for not being available to answer you on that moment. We always try our best to offer quality service with the best pilots in town.
If you happen to visit Rio in the near future, please get in touch and our team will be happy to offer you a better experience.

Daniel and Christoh were outstanding. Daniel soon put us at ease and although extremely nervous to start, the instruction and guidance made us feel confident and you knew you could put your trust in them. I can say it was one of my best life experiences and I’m so glad we did it. I’d definitely do it again. Daniel was friendly and informative right from picking us up from the beach, through the experience and at the end in explaining the recordings. He really looks after you. Ten Stars!

We highly recommend Rio Tandem. Super professional and friendly from start to finish, thanks to Daniel. The pilots were very experienced and friendly, and spoke excellent English. My partner, 56 did the paragliding and 14 year old daughter did the hang gliding. The pilots made them feel like they were in safe hands. My daughter really recommends the experience and says everyone should do it. If you want a buzz in Rio, you’ll get it when you fly!

I probably never would have done this, assuming it was something for crazy adrenaline junkies, until my son did it and told me it really wasn't scary at all. So I believed him and signed up, and it turned out to be one of the best things I have ever done. I have to admit I had a few butterflies at take off but had great confidence in the skill and professionalism of the instructor, and the rigour of all the pre-launch safety checks. Once we were flying, it was simply magical... breathtaking views, a running commentary in perfect English from my pilot, and any nerves just evaporated. I grinned from ear to ear the whole flight. In life we regret the things we didn't do, more than the things we did do. So do yourself a huge favour and sign up for this flight, it's really not scary, and you'll remember the thrill of it forever. Amazing!

I was nervous about trying paragliding but Daniel was great. He responded quickly to our inquiry and was great about communication. We flew with him and Carlos his partner from Pedra Bonita and caught a strong thermal that took us high above the peak and neighboring mountains. We went out over the water and I got to steer a bit. All together it was about 17 minus in the air and something we'll never forget. Works highly recommend

We went paragliding with my partner and it is a totally recommendable experience. Daniel and Carlos informed us of absolutely everything, giving us peace of mind.

Professional, awesome, and affordable! Due to age limits in Rio, my sons and I headed across the bay to Niteroi. As a mom, I was a little anxious, but Daniel and his crew run a great operation and we loved our flight. Can't wait to try it in Rio next time!
