This statue was erected in 2014 on the 20th anniversary of Tom Jobim’s death at the age of 67 in New York. We encountered it on a walk along Ipanema Beach. It is just a statue. Not worth going out of your way to see.

If you're going to Ipanema, you might as well get a picture with the guy who wrote "Girl from Ipanema." It's close to the beach, so there it's easy to get to. If you don't make it though, don't worry. You're not missing too much.

This is one of three bronze monuments located in close proximity to each other near tge Fort at Copacabana Beach. This one is on the Ipanema side and like the others makes for a fun photograph.
