Neighbourhood: Sé
Sé, which derives its name from Sé Square, is a central neighbourhood in historic São Paulo. Close by, the Law School, the Museum of the Court of Justice and the Metropolitan Cathedral offer inspiring architecture. If you are looking for cultural activities, head to Caixa Cultural and check the schedule. In the area there is a popular pedestrian street called “Rua Direita”, one of the first streets in the region, which today marks the crowded perimeter. Sé is a great area to explore during daytime, but use caution if visiting alone at night.
How to get there
- São Bento • 3 min walk
- Anhangabaú • 6 min walk

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a beautifull place to have a view of the entire area around. The restaurant looks good - however they would not allow us in - we were too early :(

The Martinelli Building is in the center of São Paulo and has incredible architecture. From there you can see a very large part of the city. It's a beautiful view. There is a story teller about the building, which tells you the most important and interesting information about the place.

We saw the Martinelli Building whilst on a tour. A historical building with an interesting history. You used to be able to go up the top for free however this is no longer the case as of recently - shame as the view would be beautiful

When I got to the entrance of the building, I went to ask how do I get to the roof and they told me that they are no longer allowing visit to the roof. That they do not know when they will start again the roof visits.

I would say 4-5 stars for the building which is really nice, a 1929 art deco tall building with a mansion on top that you can see well from Banespa building (paying visit, not free as some guidebooks say), but 1 star for the visit since you can no longer climb on top.

Go to the website posted in info here on TA and see the announcment under "Visitas" with message that translates to :
"VISITATION IS SUSPENDED FOR AN INDETERMINATED TIME FOR INTERNAL USE OF SÃO PAULO URBANISMO. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING."
Otherwise, its another business office building while it has history would have been 5star if I had access to the top floor view .

Martinelli Building is not the tallest building in SP but is the tallest open for visitors. It's free and you'll find a beautiful lookout of the whole city, even the skyline of the Paulista Avenue. I was there in an afternoon of a week day and was not busy. The groups are allowed to go up each half an hour and the line is formed just at the door. Don't miss!

It's a historical building where you can visit the rooftop. The rooftop was home to a very wealthy family in the past, so it's a place rich in details to see. It has a gorgeous view of the city and it's not near as packed as Banespa building (which you can see from Martinelli's rooftop). Definitely recommend visiting it.

Já está aberto para visitação? Como faço pra agendar?
Written 11 May 2018
Nao precisa agendar.
