This is one of the few remaining villas in Avenida Paulista that were built for the coffee barons in the early 20th century and houses a cultural center run by the state government. It hosts exhibitions, concerts and artistic events and is only a minute´s walk from the Itau Cultural Center so the visitor can easily combine a visit to... More

Casa das Rosas is a piece of history lost in the concrete jungle. There you can get in contact with Haroldo de Campo's work and other important writers. Besides that the building (constructed in the 30's) is breathtaking.

Beautiful house with so much of history in it. Some good exhibition. A must go if you are in the area. And it is free.

Wonderful construction in front of an one of the most modern buildings in Avenida Paulista, one of the most popular places in São Paulo where intimal plays take place. Outside, a cozy coffee shop becomes very charming among the garden. A must go tour spot.

If you're having a wander down the Paulista, stop by and have a look. It's a unique opportunity to see the type of houses that existed in times past on the Paulista, most of them were knocked down when the avenue was expanded. It won't be the reason you go to Sao Paulo but it is something that will brighten... More

Worth a short trip - prob take about an hour here. There is a pleasent cafe around the back where you can rest your weary feet if you necessary.

I may have been out of luck by the time I´ve visited because the exibition was being reformulated and the garden had almost no flowers, but other than that it is a colonial house with not much to offer. Again, if you are around and want to stop for a coffe, the bistro in the back might be an option... More

A beautiful colonial villa in the unlikely Avenida Paulista surrounded by skyscrapers on a horrendously busy road. Look out for the stained glass window on the marble staircase, and the photos of 1902. How things have changed! Little info in English though.
