Neighbourhood: Sé
Sé, which derives its name from Sé Square, is a central neighbourhood in historic São Paulo. Close by, the Law School, the Museum of the Court of Justice and the Metropolitan Cathedral offer inspiring architecture. If you are looking for cultural activities, head to Caixa Cultural and check the schedule. In the area there is a popular pedestrian street called “Rua Direita”, one of the first streets in the region, which today marks the crowded perimeter. Sé is a great area to explore during daytime, but use caution if visiting alone at night.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Conjunto Nacional was once one of the most iconic buildings on Avenida Paulista. It was and still is a multifunctional building in its entirety. It is a residential part, a commercial part, a commercial mall and a cultural center (it was a few years ago). On the first floors there is a gallery with shops and in another block there are apartments. It was once an architectural icon of the city, today due to major economic changes in Brazilian society, which resulted in continued closures of companies, stores, cinemas and theaters, it only has the expectation of having urban and tourist potential in a future that is taking time to arrive. It was even the location of the artistic and cultural enterprise represented by Livraria Cultura, now bankrupt and extinct, bringing with it cinemas and theaters.

Right at the heart of Paulista Avenue, near "Consolação Subway Station", you will find this old and iconic mall: "Conjunto Nacional", one of the first shopping centers opened in São Paulo. Although a bit dated, along its corridors you will find a theater, some movie theaters, the famous bookstore "Livraria Cultura", banks and many cafés and restaurants. Its quite well kept, safe and fantastically located. In its towers, residential apartments and offices complete the scene. Strolling along Paulista Avenue, a quick stop to enjoy some good coffee and warm "pão de queijo" - the delicious cheese bread balls, so popular among Brazilians. If you still have some spare time, "Livraria Cultural", the bookstore, is really unmissable. Enjoy!

Although dated the building is well maintained it was conveniently located from my hotel. With no well known specialty stores but an above average food court it is your choice to come visit.

If you do not have an active and strategic person behind any business then you are faded to become any ordinary place.
This place has being for decades an icon but its 10 last years a bit without apathy. They have art exposition cinema library etc but it is more like a white elephant sat in the living room with little expression.
I wished different actions could be taken to revitalise this marvellous place.

The place is decades-old, kind of dated. There are a number of shops, cafes, bank branches, and even a telecom shop. Not quite a fancy gallery anymore as it was back in the sixties. Underground parking lot. It is indeed a huge residential and commercial building with stores on the ground floor. Nothing beyond that.

It was a great place, now, it is the one you go visit for its architectural design, have a coffee and leave. Livraria Cultura (Cultura Bookstore) dominates the place, the little store, like the old music store no longer exists, and except for the Ben&Jerry's store or the Viena cafeteria, it is another shopping centre. Till the 90s there were e different cinemas with about 6-8 rooms, but now there is only CineArte, which is good, but the great Astor nwow is part of the bookstore.

It is an icon of São Paulo architecture (not necessarily beautiful) with various options of food, cafés, bookstores and small shops. The hallways often hold temporary exhibitions of collectibles, photography, artwoks, etc. The best bookstore in town is here (Livraria Cultura) with 3 branches (art & travel, general interest and geek stuff).

Located in the Paulista Avenue, the Avenue of palistanos, access by metro Green Line consolation. Pretty cool because it always has a display of art, underground one cinela with good programming and bookstore with variety. This month we're four hundred years of Don Quixote Cevantes work. We took a picture of the work DOM QUIXOTE related made with waste materials. SUSTAINABILITY EXAMPLE. It is worth knowing ... and then have a snack ..
