The largest monument in Stara Zagora. Dedicated to the Liberation from Ottoman rule and the participation of the Russian army. There is also a very nice park, which unfortunately is not well maintained.

This in by far the most monumental monument in Stara Zagora, seen from everywhere in the city. It commemorates the Russian army and the local liberation forces (called Oplchentsi). It is to be found in a nice park.
