This is an amazing place. You will see floating gardens being harvested, villages on stilts, fishermen who row with one leg, craft shops and silk shops, restaurants and houseboats. I loved this experience and hope you will too!

I have been on the lake many times now but every time feels like a different trip. There is either too much going on for you to grasp everything that is happening around you or there is so little action that you find yourself immersed...More

Inle Lake shares great experiences for all tastes! From floating vegetable and fruit gardens, to local arts, we saw and loved every bit of it. We specifically say silversmiths, blacksmiths, local silk manufacturing, stone carvings, paintings and lots of local craftsmanship. Highly recommend it!!

It does seem to be a little hit or miss in terms of tours but Ostello Bello helped us organise one and it was a full day for amazing value. We visited multiple workshops (a cigar-making factory, silversmith, lotus/silk weaving), Indein Pagodas, long-necked tribeswomen, floating...More

Taking a private boat ride, we enjoy the calm and bright lake view in the mid day. No much boat traffic on the way out to the lake. Just scattering fishermen on little boats out casting their nets. Look out for the vast tomatoes plantation...More

The boat trip was a fascinating day out - floating villages and gardens, ruined temples, many traditional ways of life plenty of low pressure craft shopping opportunities.

After suffering from the heat of Bagan and Yangon, Inle Lake certainly helped shed some cooler temperature. We loved it. Do take advantage of the boat tour for sunrise. Highly recommend it.

We were in April and it was not fully packed with tourist (so a tip to avoid high season as I heard complains about is) and the weather was quite fine. Book an authentic tour on the lake and spend also time to bicycle around.
