We grabbed a taxi boat for the day for 20,000 Kyat and toured all over the lake. We went to most of the great sites. we didn't see everything but it was a great day and we traveled for about six hours. The lake was wonderful and clear. It was fun to be on the water all day. I knew... More

Stunning lake and to see the amazing leg rowing fisherman moving with such grace and elegance was outstanding. We stayed in a lovely hotel which Trip Advisor doesn't appear to have called the Inle Lake View Resort which is french run and first class.

Stayed on Inle Lake for 3 nights at the Hu Pin Hotel, stayed in stilted house on the water, the most stunning views over the lake. A dream. Visited the floating gardens, cycled to the local town, had endless boat journeys to some of the little floating villages. Food at our hotel was stunning as were the rooms.

I loved Inle lake - great to see the fishermen at what they do best (being very much into photography, I was in heaven). Seeing the life so different to mine is incredibly fascinating. I had so many questions about the places we visited, people we saw. But unfortunately, our boatman, although really sweet, did not speak a word of... More

Different than anything I've seen before. The fisherman were great and unlike other reviews, they don't just do it for tourists (maybe a couple do, but the majority really are fishermen). It was a huge and beautiful lake and the fishing villages are awe-inspiring as well. It's an impressive place.

The only way to see the lake properly is to take a boat ride. Sure, it may be touristy and the boat driver will likely bring you to places where he gets a commission, but it is well worth it. At different parts of the lake, you will see fishermen, farmers, and even villages. All of them have found a... More

We hired a boatman for two days. This cost approx $15 a day and proved fantastic value. The lake is home to the Inwa people who live on floating villages and fish and produce wonderful vegetables and flowers on the acres of floating gardens. Our boatman was called Ko and, if you can find him, get him ! He also... More
