Definitely worth a visit if you're in Battambang, it was our first stop on our day tour and it's quite fun. It's a single track with lots of single carts going both ways so... read more

As said by the others, this is a very touristic attraction with only one goal, take the maximum of money from your wallet. We decided to give it a try because it is not an usual experience. It is up to you.it is original but useless, dangerous and expensive. We refused to pay the final tip that they asked, 10$... More

We read a few mixed reviews about the bamboo train but went for it. On arrival we were met by the police guard who explained the procedure fully and clearly. We paid the $10 (5 each) and were escorted to our 'train' and off we went. It was so much fun. We've read comments about 'health and safety' and excessive... More

The bamboo train was a great experience for just $5USD. I solo travelled but went with some folks from my hostel and everyone loved it! Drivers and staff were friendly.

Dirty, busy tourist only attraction.. expensive, full of tacky souveniers and grotty food..sad really sad that such an unusual attraction should have gone down hill, rumours are that it will close soon. Also the baboo train is run on a small engine not by a hand

It was fast and fun but not dangerous. Everyone we saw on that trip loved it like we did. One of those rare experiences. A bit of a tourist trap? Yes. Giving help to poor locals? Yes. Fun? YES!

Definitely worth a visit if you're in Battambang, it was our first stop on our day tour and it's quite fun. It's a single track with lots of single carts going both ways so sometimes you have to get off whilst they take the cart off to let one go past. However in the village you're pestered to buy something... More

We went early in the morning, around 9 am and made it the full way to the village without meeting any incoming traffic. The journey without stops one way was about 20 minutes and we went about 30 km/hour which feels very speedy on the bamboo flat. It's a bumpy ride! At the village everyone wants to sell you something,... More

Wow what a laugh ! Well worth the visit and the discomfort ! Our guide Nom was great and made the experience all the better. Had a eye opener at the end of the line where the vendors were selling cooked rats ! A definite must do , and at a dollar each an absolute bargain !

Look, it's a bit of fun. You sit on a carriage going 30-40 kilometers an hour in some places, see a little scenery, unique up to a point experience. You go 20 minutes in one direction - stop. Wait for fifteen minutes, then 20 minutes back. However, the problem is after the first stop, you are inundated with children selling... More

The Bamboo Train should not be classed as a tourist attraction more like tourist torture!!!! The state of the rails were so bad i think we were lucky not to derail.
