Emailed the day before to book and got an email straight back to confirm. We paid a tuk tuk drive $8 to get there from Battambang town which after reading other reviews seems to be the going rate. We were warmly welcomed by two lads, both spoke excellent English, who got our kayaks on the water for us and told... More

Booked a trip before our arrival and responses to our enquiries were very prompt. Tuk tuk to the Green Orange Cafe cost 8 dollars, not sure if we were overcharged although it is a distance away. The boys awaited us although the cafe was closed on our arrival. They kindly made us some noodles before we set off. We were... More

We spent a leisurely few hours on the river. Paddling past fishermen, goatherds, fields and villages downstream to town. There is no chance of getting lost and there is no need for a guide. When it gets too hot a dip in the water is very welcome.

My wife and I are both in our 50s and we actually stayed in the Green Orange bungalows witch was organised thru the THEDA school . We stayed for 2 nights and toured the school, did a cooking course and did the Kayaking. We were really looked after and would highly recommend staying the 2 nights. We were treated as... More

Awesome way to spend a few hours, kayaking down the Sangke river. You start on the outskirts of Battambang and kayak to the city center. The company will provide you with a hat and dry bag if you need one and meet you at the end. Our driver even gave us a ride back to our friends house afterwards. While... More

We asked if we had to book the kayaks. Were told no so we took a tuk tuk out at 9.30am the next day. The owners were not there. Just a couple who worked in the bungalows but couldn't speak any English. Luckily the tuk tuk driver stayed with us and phoned the owners who told him they were busy... More

Fun half day excursion canoeing from the outskirts of Battambang to the city centre up the Sangke river. Make sure you make contact in advance so they're aware you're coming (we didn't although they were really welcoming and managed to get us kayaks anyway). Morning session recommended before it gets too hot - it's also more challenging than it looks!

If you are looking for a nice way to fill in the morning in Battambang and get a little excercise at the same time then this is for you. We had a lovely morning paddling downstream enjoying the scenery and watching the locals go about their daily business. We saw people fishing, tending to their cattle and the vegetable gardens... All the gear was in fine condition -- kayak, life jacket, paddle and dry bag. The staff were delightful to deal with. Is it the most scenic 11km river paddle I've ever done? No, but it's still worth doing -- seeing the family farms, fishing villages and boats is enjoyable. I made the trip in January, when the weather was... More
