I admit, my expectations were not great when I found myself picking my way along a back street, half expecting to find a room full of the sort of fake artworks one can buy by the dozen in a Phnom Penh market.

Oh how very wrong I was.

Much of the artwork on display in this charming, multi-level gallery, is world class fine art. These pieces could be (and in some instances have been) exhibited in galleries anywhere in the world.

Some of the pieces don't quite work and some of the messaging is slightly clumsy but the talent is extraordinary, and when they get it right (which is often) the works are just ridiculously good.

Entry is a bargain at $5. You will want to stop at the cafe on the top level just to contribute more to the project.

One of the genuine highlights of my visit to Battambang.

This is a great place to spend an hour or more in Battambang. There are three floors of artwork and all of which are super talented and by local artists. There is a lovely cafe at the top with great views of the pagoda and the best coffee I had in the city

Don't miss this Gallery and Museum to see another side of Cambodia and Battambong. It is an easy walk from the city center through a practically suburban neighborhood, and the museum itself is a real treat. Works by a number of artists provide real insight to the soul of this intriguing country. I am not an art expert, but my husband and I were both wowed by the technique, vision, and emotion of many of the works. There is also a nice little cafe on the top floor. Support Cambodia art scene and enrich your soul with a visit.

Lovely gallery space featuring the work of four Cambodian artists (all born early 1980s).
While their artistic styles are very different there is a dark theme running through the art pieces. That said, I found many of the pieces strangely beautiful.
We also went to the airy cafe upstairs for a coffee and spring rolls.
Highly recommend a trip here.

Very nice art gallery just across the river from downtown Battambang. The artwork was compelling especially considering the life stories of the four artists who are featured there. We purchased one piece and met the artist who personally packed it and had it sent to us back home.

This gallery/restaurant/cafe is a must-see when you are in Battambang. A gallery and museum of work created by some astounding Cambodian artists.
The gallery is situated on a beautiful, quiet street which is easy to get to.
Take a morning or afternoon to explore this profound art space.

Located across the river approx 15 min walk from centre. What a find it’s a lovely gallery with a fascinating story about the artists. Upstairs is a fabulous cafe the food and drinks were wonderful. It’s definitely worth visiting just for the cafe if you’re not into art.

The café is off the beaten track, so we took a tuk tuk there. If you want to visit the gallery attached (which we didn't), you have to pay an entrance fee. The pastries we ate, as well as the coffee and fruit juices, were extremely tasty and well prepared. The rooms are decorated like a jungle with lots of plants. The price-performance ratio is reasonable, and the staff are very friendly. If you're looking for something special, you should definitely visit this location.

A really nice place to relax and spend a few hours admiring the art and enjoying the food/drinks of the cafe. We brought our books and got breakfast in the cafe and then looked through the art pieces. The food in the cafe is nice but note that it is slightly more expensive than the average cafe in Battambang. You also have to pay an admission fee of $5 and note that photos of the artwork are not permitted.
