This was part of a full day tour which we took with Agencia Turismo Layana which we booked though Denomades.com. Layana was a great tour company. The guide was excellent. He explained everything and some. He spoke equally English and Spanish. We really enjoyed him....More

You can book a trip to the lagoons at any tour agency along the main drag in San Pedro. Before we went to San Pedro, I had trouble understanding exactly how things worked, despite reading many reviews here on Trip Advisor. But now I get...More

Great location, the drive there was beautiful. Amazing landscapes. Great for photographers. Some travellers found the air thin, but I was okay. Overall no major problems.

I expected more, but even so it is a very nice place. Perhaps because it was a bit cloudy. It is a reserve for many species. The two lakes Miscanti y Miniques are surrounded by many volcanoes, between them los volcanoes Miscanti y Miniques.

The lagoons themselves are beautiful but the access to the lagoons is very limited (for a good reason actually). After traveling for a long time and seeing many lagoons I can't say they were so different, but if you haven't seen many lagoons before it...More

Wonderful and well maintained area that allows great 'watching' without disturbing the wildlife. Yes, many tourists arrive here but this does not spoil the whole experience

Beautiful sight and very enjoyable tour passing by the Laguna de Chaza on the Reserva Nacional Los Flamencos. You could see some local birds (flamingos and taguas) and the guide gave us lots of insights and what do they eat, how do they survive in...More

This excursion - which we booked as a private tour - was probably the highlight of our stay. I would recommend a private tour as our guide left a little earlier than the crowds so we had the 2 lagunas to ourselves more or less...More

Hi, Go first to Laguna Miscanti (4200m) then Tatio Geysers (4300m) the next day. If possible, I would suggest adding 1 more night in SPdA, as you plan to go to 2 locations that are very high in altitude and you really... More

They are very different experiences. Atacama is dry and arid, Lauca is wet. I found it very rewarding to visit both. As an added bonus, you will get to visit the saltpeter mines of Humberstone on the way up. We rented a car... More
