A double-storey museum where you can learn more about the Great Wall of China and the architect. But if you’re not a history junkie like me, you can just go for the clean toilet and the air-condition. Bought a nice magnet in the souvenir shop on the way out too.

This is on the way out from the Jiayuguan fortress so worth the small detour. No extra fees applied. Significant quantity, but nearly all the details are in Mandarin; would probably enjoy a lot less without some knowledge. Also (again this is only explicit in Mandarin), many of the displays are replicas. I didn't count but I estimate less than... More

As most of the information is not in English, it doesn't take long to walk through the museum. Since it's on the way out of the fortress area, it's easy to stop there for a bit. It has a few nice displays.

The Great Wall of China (GWC) was remarkable in seeing the wall trail through the mountains. I was so amazed in seeing how man could accomplish this feat. I hired a guide and I believe I paid about $50 for the entire day. Please note that the guide will take you anywhere and everywhere. I asked to take me to... More

This is now a part of the Jiayuguan pass area (not in the town where the map suggests.) When you buy a ticket for the fortress it gives you entry to the museum (as well as the West and East Great Wall areas.) The museum is a good introduction to the history of the wall from the construction to the... More

This was a great museum with lots in English. There were great pictures and models of the great wall as well as the usual Chinese make believe. The museum was very well done.

A small but excellent museum... Not full of propaganda...just facts...a great way to spend an hour or two...a little more English would be nice but still a great spot

It is a place to learn all the things about the Great Wall, not just the section of Jiayuguan but all sections in China.

The entry ticket to the Jiayuguan pass includes the museum. If you take the audio guide, it also covers the museum. Good way to get out of the sun too. We did not listen to the audio guide (which you can return at the entrance of the museum) as we had given up due to the music being too loud.... More

This is a small but well presented museum. It provides helpful illustrations about rhe wall and some very good artefacts but one of the most appealing elements has to be the stones from the Wei min tombs. These beautiful and simple art works give you a genuine sense of daily life. Go here before going to the tombs
