Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I thought I was going there only to see the remains of the First Beacon. I was surprised to see that there is a whole reconstructed village--the First Pier--along the river below the tower. I was also surprised to see an original section of the Great Wall near the First Beacon. These made the trip more worthwhile.

Out of the three main sites on the combi ticket, this is the one that can be missed. The beacon tower is not very interesting and the barracks area is probably only interesting if you have kids. The canyon with the hanging bridge and the river are okay to see though if you bought the combi ticket anyway.

The glass floor over looking the river is fun. On a day that isn't windy you can glide across the valley. We were there during a sandstorm.
