Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wish I could revisit anytime soon. It was raining by the time we arrived, which I figured it would've been so lively at night instead. Best view to wake up to in Yangshuo area.

I was last here 23 years ago when the only tourists were young western backpackers taking a break from their china travels to relax, eat chocolate banana pancakes and drink real coffee. Very quiet and sleepy with few tourist shops. Now it is as many have said a somewhat tackly low end tourist trap. A once walk through is enough. The side streets do have some interesting shops and cafes but quite a few seem to have died due to COVID.

There’s not much to see here. There are some shops all selling the same thing. The sidewalks are entirely too small and is not safe as cars and scooters go speeding by. I usually like night markets and street fairs and food, but this place has no charm or feel, just a gross street. Stay away especially if you have a family with small children.

An Ordinary ancient town, food here is overpriced, especially after the Re-open of China tourism. But I’m lucky enough to meet these local Zhuang and Miao People to celebrate their traditional holiday. Order a beer in this Bar and support the local business.

Don’t go unless you enjoy noise and crowds. The street is full of small shops selling overpriced touristy stuff - same as in every popular China tourism destination. Only head down here if you are targeting a particular restaurant

It's hard to say good or bad in many respects because it is what you would expect for a pedestrian street that is a tourist attraction.

There are many similar shops that sell trinkets and food, which isn't that much different than other tourist spots but there are some gems here and there. This is not a must see, but it's a good way to kill some time if you want to wander and people watch.

One of the big perks is that it has a range of Western food options. A plethora of pizza places and craft pubs. So if you want something that isn't Chinese there are many options. The Starbucks and Watsons is helpful too!

If you get off the main street you will find more interesting shops and a tangle of interesting places.

We went when it was off-season and there were few people around. It might be overwhelming during the high season, but I can't speak to that, but this won't make or break your visit and there are certainly many more fun things to do before you land here, but if you want to stroll and be aimless its a good option.

If you were thinking Yang Shuo was just a little too perfect and want to proven wrong, head on over! Take every thing that's horrible about tier three and tier four China and put it into a single street. Voila, that's West Street for you.

Lots to see. It’s a people watching haven. So many random shops and sites to see. Great at night when lit up.
