Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Took a 3 segment tour and this ride in the Li river (漓江)was the first of the afternoon activities. The rafts were motorized and only able to take 4 passengers on each craft.
The total ride about 90 mins and you will end at the same place that you depart. The ride was scenic and relaxing. Recommended if you have time and are in the vicinity of Yangshuo.

Although hard to get to without private transportation, it is well worth the fuzz in arranging transport to get there. Was told that this section of the Li river is probably the best. We hired a cab driver to take us there, waited for our raft ride to finish, and take us back to Guilin.
Pros: best Li river scenery
Cons: bit out of the way , no one speaks English around the pier, and you really need local guide to arrange all logistics if you don't speak the local dialect or putonghua. The noise from the motorised bamboo raft can be a disturbance while you are soaking in the serene surroundings
Despite the cons, it is well worth the effort in getting there.

This is a comparatively lesser known place among foreigners compared to Xin Ping. Well, its really the beginning point of bamboo rafting which enables one to ride all the way down to Xin Ping (takes about 2 1/2 hours). Its alot more peaceful and serene here with none of the commercial souvenirs shops.
From Yangshuo North station, local bus to Yangti cost 15Yuan, takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Check with the local on the last bus trip back to Yangshuo. There is also direct bus from Guilin to Yangti.
Beside the Weishengju ( County Healthcare Clinic) there is a path into the village. For those interested to explore, this path cutting into the orange farm and a local school. Further uphill you can have a panaromic view of the banboo raft and tourist ferries meandering along the Li River against a backdrop of the mountain range.

If you are taking an abridged boat ride on the Li River instead of the full course cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo, this is probably the best place to commence.
As of April 2019, small motor boats can only go till Nine Horses Hill, at which point, you take an electric vehicle to Xing Ping town. Note that your boat ticket from Yangdi to Nine Horses Hill will include this electric vehicle ride from Nine Horses Hill to Xing Ping town, so don't lose your ticket, as you need to present it in Nine Horses Hill upon your disembarkation to board the electric vehicle to Xing Ping.
Yangdi is a rather rural port, and communication can be a problem if you don't speak Chinese. Thus, if you take this route, you're best getting a tour from a travel agency, who will take care of you by bringing you to Yangdi, arranging for your boat ride from Yangdi to Nine Horses Hill, and so on until you reach your intended final destination.
The price difference is very very minimal, and you will save yourself the headache of figuring out your transportation arrangements at each step.

Motor boats up and down an otherwise beautiful stretch of river. Does it matter if the boats were once made of bamboo? People begging you to buy their wares. Utterly average food.
