Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place was simply amazing! The views are fantastic and you won’t regret visiting Silver Cave. If the weather is unbearable outside and if you have two small children aged 3 and under, you might want to rethink a trip hear or else it might be memorable for the wrong reasons. It’s cooler than outside but it’s still hot. There’s a lot of climbing and parents know children tire easily so you must carry them. Strollers are out of the question. It is very slippery. I have mixed feelings still but I can’t blame my parent woes on the attraction. If you have help, bring them to help you with kids. If you have older kids, just bring snacks.

We came here to visit. The cave is easy to walk around and do not require much climbing . It’s big and we spend around 1hour15 mins inside the cave . Not many tourists come here. So it’s comfortable to walk around and easy to get a nice photo here. I did not expect much here. Knowing it is not Five A grade cave so we did not expect much . It’s not disappointing and It’s clean too . If u have enough time , come here and its worth a visit

Our world of nature creates the most beautiful scenery. The Silver Cave (also known as Yinzi Cave)is an excellent example. It goes through twelve mountain peaks. Its various types of stalactite formations were created over the ages and during different geologic periods. The main portion of the cave is over ten kilometres in length. The Silver Cave of Yangshuo is about 410 kilometres northwest of Guangzhou and 82 kilometres from Guilin. Since there are no non-stop flights, the driving time is similar to the end to end flight travel time.

I am surprised that this stunning cave is seldom mentioned in English language books and websites about Gulin/Yangshuo. Silver Cave is the preferred destination of Chinese tourists over the Reed Flute Cave. To be honest, taking five hours to visit a cave is an offbeat pursuit, but my wife and I are nature geeks, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. However, the cave is big, and it is a bit taxing after a full day of other tours.
As mentioned in other reviews, it is easy to book a tour to this cave through any of the tour companies in Yangshuo.
Just a few points to consider:
- the cave is layered, and you will have to climb (often by stairs) 26 flights before you exit. I noticed a number of elderly (and severely out of shape) people struggling by the end of the tour. I saw some style’n Chinese women in heels. Sensible shoes are a must!
- in peak tourist season, the cave is inundated with tour groups. I would bet our group joined a crowd of 750 people waiting to get in. In fairness, the operators were fairly efficient in getting the groups through, but we still had to bake in the sun for about half an hour.
- when we entered the cave, we were put in a group of about 60 people. The group was so large and loud, that it was generally impossible to hear the mandarin speaking tour leader through her tiny P.A. system. We were able to break away from the group and walk through the cave ourselves.
- it is a cave, so some of the walkways are VERY narrow and restrictive. The cave is cool and the paths are wet. Sensible shoes are a must!

Very interesting to see the cavernous insides of the karts/mountains. One cannot imagine the extent of the caves...they seemed to just keep going and going. Was impressive how each area was highlighted with colored lighting and given a name reminiscent of the formation. I’ve never experienced such a production in a cave. Quite Disney esc. There were a few kitchy moments like the forced photo op. We simply kept moving and ignored them. Also there’s the setup where you have to exit through the gift shop; which we blast through and ignore.

You can get to the cave by bus from YangShuo city bus station (not FengMing Tourist Center). The bus cost 15 RMB per Person for a one-way ticket. The bus will take you either to the entrance to the cave or to a road crossing from where you can walk there in 10 mins.
You find the picture of our tickets and if you show this at te bus station as your destination ('Wo yao qu ze li'), they should sell you the right ticket at the bus station booth (don't buy it on the bus or from anybody else: on the way back, the ticket lady on the bus didn't give us a receit and made us transfer the money on WeChat to her private account!!! But if we don't agree, we would be stuck there.).
The entrance fee to the cave was 65 RMB and tyou get an audio guide in english.
The walk through the cave took around 50 mins and the cave was quite impressive. It's quite warm and very moist, so dress accordingly.
In peak season, I can imagine there are huge lines to get in (seems like it from the infrastructure they have).

It's the first time I judge a cave as terrible. Though this could have been beautiful in the past, It's almost half destroyed for the sake of money and tourism.
Stalattiti cut off to enlarge the walk and people allowed to touch -hence damage -them. Disco lights everywhere increase the cave temperature to the further damage of its natural beauty, but don't worry they planted fans everywhere.
A headset guide that says nothing about the cave and all about what rock looks like (a tree a Buddha etc)
The worst things were the picture stands with advertisers yelling through a loud speaker and the markets selling the cheapest kitsch objects ever. In a cave.
You can enjoy the hammering of the work in progress.
If you are the type of person who loves going to sharm el sheik to steal a piece of coral from the beach you could probably get yourself a stalattite from here.
Advertisements everywhere. Noisy ugly cheap. Poor cave.
I run out.

We rented bikes for the day and followed an inaccurately scaled map to Silver Cave. It took us 2 hours with a none gear bike (bring plenty of water if the weather is still hot).
The cave has a 65 yuan entrance fee which we found a bit expensive for this type of attraction but many of the things in YangShuo are pricey unless you are a Chinese citizen (then you can use Dian Ping and tuan gou everything).
The cave was really nice inside. The temperature was cool and all the formations are lit up in spectacular colors. I guess this time of year it isn't busy season so we could wander the cave on our own. No crowds!! There is also a Chinese tour guide to explain things but I couldn't understand anything she said.
They allow you to enter about every 15 minutes to control the crowds.
You can eat the Guilin rice noodle outside for 8 yuan a bowl.

Nothing special... just some rocks inside the cave. I will not recommend for this place. Specially for teenagers.

Cave is ok lots of coloured lights. You have to go around with a guide and unfortunately ours didn’t speak any English so we didn’t really know what was going on she moved quite quickly through the cave which didn’t give us enough time to read any of the information.

Ooh. I’m excited to hear about the sedan chairs. I’m planning to visit Yangshuo in October but has assumed I would have to miss out on many things because I’m disabled. Do you know if there are sedan chairs elsewhere? How long did the cave trip last?
Thanks for any information you can give

Hey. Well for my girlfriend and I, we walked in that direction as there were different things to see and when we finished Moon Hill, then we took a sharing cab back to the bus terminal at the edge of Yangshou. It was CNY 3 each. The whole walk was 8kms. However you can either rent bicycles and go or you can even hire a car/private taxi to take you. May try to rip you off with prices though. Have fun and enjoy.
