The best thing here was that the visitors were waiting for taking a picture with the big Buddha. It is a good way up the stairs, but it feels like accomplishing something. The other thing neccessary is to look and to... More

It was an amazing historical trail, my children loved it! The carvings on the cave walls were intricate and I could not imagine how they did this with minimal and non sophisticated tools during those time. The surroundings are peaceful and the lake is just gorgeous for a boat ride.

Well preserved, and simply a masterpiece. It is worth all the walk and the hot sun to see this part.

This is by far the most spectacular Cave of the Longmen Grottoes and the largest one. Make sure to spend a good time admiring the magnificence of this cave carvings and monumental statues.

It is definitely worth the visit to the grottoes. Dont forget to take a ride in a boat or go on the other side of the river to see the size of it all from a distance. There seems to be lights on at night, though possibly only during the summer months.

An amazing view on either side to Yi River in the central Chinese State of Henan. Longmen Grottoes are one of the best examples of rock cut Buddhist caves anywhere in the world. Dating back to 5th Century AD, Longmen Grottoes are an outstanding example of China's ancient Buddhist cave art. Mount Longmen is dotted with Buddhist caves of different... More
