Especially For The Faithful

For the faithfuls this is their ultimate place to visit. There are several chambers of the "different" gods,Here one can offer their prayers and receive blessings from the divine.

Rich in Chinese history, many ancient temples. Not the top on our list after seeing other temples. The grounds were interesting.

It is a quiet temple, constantly under renovations. During holidays it is very busy and packed. It is nice to visit if you understand the history behing General Guan, if not, White Horse temple is more worth your time.

If you like the character General Guan, then this place is worth the visit. Otherwise, you may want to consider giving it a miss. It has rich Chinese history.

This temple is a historical site to be visited if you happen to be in this Luoyang Town. No photographing is allowed inside the temple but there is many local stalls selling souvenir nearby the site.

My husband was interested in visiting this place as he knew of this figure of Guanlin. He was a general during ancient times who was murdered for political reasons. He was highly respected and is now revered as God-like. He is the only figure reverted by Buddhists, Taoists and those who follow Confucianism apparently. This is one of the better... More

I wanted to visit this temple as I recently watched a TV series dealing with the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, where Guan Yu was a main character. I enjoyed visiting the temple, but if I had to do it over again, there probably is not enough of a reason to visit.

The site was rebuilt in the last century. The only important relic is the tomb which is a dirt mount. There are more interesting temples architectural wise in the area.

Such a wide and peaceful temple whic dedicated to Guanyu or general guan, the general and another famous warrior from the Three Kingdom. Some believe that here is the tomb where Guanyu's head was buried. Some believe he is the goddess of honesty and grateful. Or some believe like he is the god of police ( I once heard this... More

I came to visit because I am familiar with the Three Kingdom but was overall underwhelmed by the place. There isn't much description to explain the importance of the artefacts and the sites themselves and you don't have much atmosphere for the site. I wouldn't recommend it unless you speak and read Chinese and are familiar with the history.
