The Birmingham Zoo is a great place to take the entire family. The animals are always fun to watch. You get great exercise walking around. The animal feedings are always informative. The train is fun as is the carousel.

I was sadly disappointed when we went on Presidents' Day. The weather was gorgeous and the crowds were what we expected. However apparently the Zoo was shocked we all came. They had only one restaurant open and you aren't supposed to bring outside food. There were a lot of families with packed lunches so I guess my suggestion is to... More

Great choice of animals. Even though they were doing construction there was alot to see. It is a slow time now and a good time to improve. Botanical gardens right next door and is a must to see.

School was out so decided to take boys (13,7) to the zoo and it was pretty cool! We got there around 11am, not crowded at all. Most all exhibits were open. Took us about 4 hours. Kids enjoyed the play gym, sea lion show and petting area. Definitely going back!

The zoo is currently under partial construction which could account for it's small size. I thought the enclosures were small and the animals were skinny and sickly. In particular I'm referring to the lion and the tiger. Several enclosures had only one animal. The lucky ones had one other companion of the opposite sex. I was surprised to learn they... More

A lot of the zoo was either closed off or under construction and they have quite a bit less than other zoos i have been to. Because of that the price is a little high. We walked through the whole zoo in only a few hours. The slide costs 3.50 for one quick ride (its not very large). Glad we... More

They are working a few new exhibits so it's a little bit of a cluster right now. The Birmingham Zoo is always great fun and will be again after the upgrades are made.

We were really disappointed with this zoo. The line to get in was very long when we got there, and even longer when we were leaving. They only had two ticket windows open, and the train was down today. There's a very large construction area right when you walk in. We felt bad for the animals because many of them... More

I always love coming to the Birmingham Zoo. Coming with the young kids that are so excited to go explore makes me feel like a kid again. We always go see the elephants first to say hello and we make sure to tell them bye before we leave!

We enjoy the zoo. This was our first time to go around Christmas. Although it was cold we enjoyed seeing the lights and riding the train.
