The Alabama is one of my favorite places to visit in Birmingham. The organ is beautiful. We always go during the Christmas holiday to watch the old movies. I think it is a perfect girl's trip or date night venue to see a movie.

The restored version of this theatre is gorgeous. There are architectural features that'll make your jaw drop. We have seen OCMS/The Lumineers at this location and have also watched Cool Hand Luke. Both experiences were more than worthwhile and tickets were reasonably priced.

This movie palace is not your typical suburban stadium theater. The architecture is breathtaking. A lot of love and effort has been taken to keep it looking good and functioning. The organ rises from below the stage and then the music starts and you are...More

The Alabama which opened as a 'movie palace' in December, 1927 shows off some of the more lavish architecture and interior design of the day. It is also home to the ornate 'Mighty Wurlitzer' organ. Major restoration was done in 1998. The acoustics are better...More
