If you want to see how Birmingham began this is a must see. There was construction going on when we visited. Looks like they are making it tour friendly? There was audio to explain what the Furnaces did.

Seeing some of the Ghost shows ahead of time adds to the excitement and intrigue of the tour. The history of Birmingham is well told with Sloss as part of the package.

It's huge and rusty and has a lot of history putting Birmingham on the map over 100 years ago. It's open 10-4 every day but Monday's and was free. Not WC accessible in most areas.

A nice day strolling through the landmark that was once the backbone of Birmingham. Its not exciting, no rides, nothing fancy, but something we should all do at some point. Go on a pretty afternoon and take a picnic.

It was very educational. My first experience with an audio tour with my cell phone. I Would love to visit during Halloween for a good scare

During October they were getting set up for a Halloween adventure of some kind. Did not appreciate that in National Historic Landmark. I did not do the audio tour because of time and the previous comments about Oct. event. If this is a National Historic...More

This is a good stop for anyone interested in history or engineering. We learned a bunch about Birmingham that we didn't know (first visit). We found it intriguing, yet it's a mixed bag. Allow an hour or so. Pro's: - It's free. - You have...More

The landmark is great to visit in October. Thats when they turn it into a haunted attraction. It functions as a rental place and landmark for the other 11 months of the year also. You can take a tour and read about the history of...More

I have only been there during the day when there was plenty going on. I could see it being a great place for feeling spooky at night.
