Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Though smaller than the more famous Jiuzhaigou, Munigou's exquisite beauty nowhere pales in comparison! In fact, I enjoyed Munigou more than JZG since there was no crowd. The smaller size made it more walkable for the average traveller. My friend and I hired a driver for the day. This allowed us to take all the time we liked in Munigou and Erdaohai (another very worth visiting site). The Zhaga waterfall in Munigou is apparently one of the top 10 waterfalls in China! The well maintained path through the forest takes you to the top of the waterfall, which is at an altitude of more than 3000 feet above sea level. A sight to behold! If you have to choose between Huanglong and Munigou, go the latter!

Tourists tend to compare Munigou with Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong, and said that it is not that worth. Yes, it is smaller (so is the entrance fee) but it has it's own charm, esp when it is less crowded and easier to cover the park.

We were lucky to be there on a good day in early Nov13; cold air but sunny morning. The Chaga waterfall was still having plenty of water and appearing as patches of silk. The steep climb (on well done steps) over the top of the waterfall could be tough for some at this altitude (abt 3,500 metres?) though.

Personally I enjoyed the down stream walk which was very peaceful with none but nature sound and of course the flowing water from ponds to ponds, and with a bonsai display of trees and plants dotting on the water....... to some it is relaxing, to some it could be a ZEN feel! The same way back presents a different scene as the water glisters under the sunshine.

If you could afford 2 to 3 hours (excluding journey time), do pay this site (1 of 2, the other being ErDaoHai) a visit to enjoy the nature and peace. No, it is not just another park!

This site is so underated. The chinese prefer to go to Huanglong because it is very known but this site was less crowded( great for pictures). We met less then 20 persons during the 3 hours walk. The site is well maintained and the plank roads makes the walk very easy. this site is splitted in two. You have to take a cab or bus to visit the waterfall that are 15 minutes driving away at the other end of the site. there are no other ways to get around

Our first stop on our way from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou after we agreed to pay extra for this site and a few other add-ons. Mounigou is off the main highway into a more remote area with not too many visitors. There is a huge parking lot with a good size visitor center as we began our walk to the waterfalls. Very pretty along the walkway and quite an easy walk. This was also a testing ground for high altitude sufferers. I did feel a little out of breath as we walked along and a little dizziness which I did not encounter at Jiuzhaigou. So beware!

Right after a heavy snow fall the night before, we arrived at Munigou the next morning to be greeted by powdery snow left on pines. It was foggy along the way to the resort. The waterfall was refreshing. Some of the tracks up the waterfall were closed due to the dangerous icy paths. However the scenery was just as breath-taking half way up. A good alternative to Huanglong scenic spot.

I was very impressed with the trial to make it so much easier for visitors to see this biggest calcified waterfalls in China. The views from both sides of the waterfalls are just incredible and breathtaking. Visitors should not miss this not-so-famous tourist destination.

Lovely walk up to enormous waterfall - not to be missed if you can. Obviously helps that the rain had made it especially dramatic. We climbed to the top where there is a bridge and you can descend the other side. Weather varies - we had sun, rain and cloud in the space of 2 hours. You need a bus or a taxi and another good stop en route is the town Songpan. A great day

It was snowing on the day we visited, making it a completely different scene from Jiuzhaigou.

There were not as much visitors compared to Jiuzhaigou, making it a better attraction to visit ( too many visitors can simply spoil your holiday mood...)

There was just our family at part of the walking trail and it just made our visit perfect!

However, in the last 15 mins of our walk, seas of Chinese visitors arrived and we had to literally fight to get our way through...😡
