Huanglong was absolutely beautiful, and well worth the visit. My friends and I stayed at the Zuigaoyuan Inn (highly recommended - it didn't come up on TripAdvisor for me to write a review, but the concierge were extremely helpful and friendly), who arranged for a car to take us to Huanglong. We had an early lunch at the tourist building... More

40 miles northeast od Songpan, less than 10,000 fts above sea level, during snow season will be shot down. If you have limited time you can visit JiuZhai Gou instead here!

Took a two hour bus ride over the snowy mountains to HuangLong. The journey was quite scary although scenic as the bus was crossing mountain peaks on icy roads so the view was breathtaking. A few bigger buses turned back midway as they were too big to go scale the potentially slippery roads. Finally reached the destination and took the... More

Though it's not as beautiful as Jiuzhaigou but Huanglong has its own beauty. It's charming and unique. Most visitors travel to Huanglong from Jiuzhaigou and go back on the same day. There is a bus from Jiuzhaigou around 7-7.30 am everyday cost CNY45, the distance is around 150 km but it takes 3.5 hours on the bus because there are... More

A couple of days after our visit to the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Valley, we arrived at the Huanglong National Park. The entrance is located at an elevation of about 3,200 meters, and the highest point of the park, the Multi-Colored Pond, is about 3,600 meters. You can walk up there, which is about 3-4km one way, or you can take a... More

Imagine a Yellow dragon taking a shower at a waterfall. This is the beautiful view of Huanglong, where the water trickles down the scaly back of the yellow dragon. You can be walking right in the middle of the pools and get up and close to them. Be careful not to fall in when you get as close to ledge... More

Recommended to spend half a day in this park to appreciate the beauty and pace the walk. Better to ride the cable car vs walking up the steps all the way to the top. From the cable car, you have to start walking for about 40 minutes to an hour (depending on individual) before you reach the colorful ponds. Trip... More

We were warned about feeling breathless at the high altitude but we paced ourselves and had no issue.. They do have oxygen bars and portable cans everywhere... The cable car takes u to the top.. Great scenery there.. N then walk fr an hour to get to the calcified ponds.. The scenery at the ponds is too beautiful. My he... More

The cable car ride up and down costs 80 and 40 yuan respectively. If you go in the morning the queue is long but not as bad as in the afternoon when it snakes around a long, long way. There is nothing to see along the walk up to the multi coloured pool. It is a long, arduous climb for... More

We visited this place after Jiuzaigou. It has its own beauty but I think Jiuzaigou is much more mesmerizing. The pools are one of a kind n definitely worth a visit.
