it's beautiful old town on day and night. On the day you can go around to see traditional Chinese architecture and when the sunset it's a lot of traveler, you will see colour of night, music and many shops, many pubs. If you go there...More

Lovely old town with loads of character. Lots of shops and restaurants and main drags busy especially in the evening but easy to get away. Many good places to eat as well as beautiful old buildings to see

It's a huge old town, rebuilt and there are plenty of activities and stores, though many of the shops and food options are copied and you end up seeing a lot of the same thing. I counted over 20 drum & music shops playing the...More

Wll remodeled, but too noisy and commercial. Felt unreal. Nice shops. We went on a Saturday evening and very crowded.

Lijiang is not a frequent stop for Westerners. Too bad. It is unlike much of what Westerners typically see in China. It is small and quaint. It celebrates a region of cultural diversity that is frequently swamped by the 92% Han culture in the rest...More

Although the town is rebuilt from earth quake but it looks ancient and the buildings are all beautiful. The people are friendly and there are many shops selling local food and products. If you like old buildings, you should stay one to two nights in...More

Lijiang is a very pretty town with cobbled streets, tiny bridges over thin streams flowing through the town and the architecture is visually stunning especially on a bright sunny day. The overhanging roof tops from opposite sides of the narrow lanes offer some respite from...More

Don't believe the "Lijiang is crazy busy" hype. Yes it's busy in certain places at certain times but there are beautiful traditional quiet backstreets everywhere. After visiting Dali we were hesitant about Lijiang but it proved to be well worth a visit.

Well worth the visit - one of the World Heritage sites. Great to walk around and wander along the narrow streets. Interesting shops and restaurants.

The Old Town is very picturesque, and there are historic parks and temples to visit. It is interesting to see how the Chinese people manage to work and live in the ancient city, since vehicles are not allowed on the stone streets. The shopkeepers have...More

I would like to know of private tour contact to book private car from Lijiang to Shangrila on Nov 2. I prefer to book ahead of my arrival if possible. What is the price for this trip if it is just Lijiang to Shangrila. What if I take a break enroute to Tiger Leap for 2 hours Regards Jeff C

Lijiang is without a doubt one of China's genuine highlights, and I think that it would be a real mistake to miss it out. There are only two or three main throroughfares that are busy, while the rest of the many maze-like... More
