Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you are with kids, or alone...or a couple... or have some pets you would like to take out for a walk... or you like bike ride... then this is the place for you. From Makarska you can walk all the way to the next settlement of Tučepi (toward East). There are several gravel roads. At the end of primordial road toward East, you will reach really beautiful unofficial FKK beach.

How about a nice walk for your morning exercise? The walk will take you on an easy dirt track, through pretty pine forest, with fabulous views over the Adriatic Sea, from Makarska Harbour to Tucepi.
If you take the same way back it’ll take you about 1 hour each way. We brought 1 liter water each and drank everything. We wore sandals, but trainers or walking shoes would also do fine.
Starting point is in the south (or left) end of the harbour. Here you’ll see some steps by one of the last hotels before the little beach. Climb the stairs and soon you’ll see the first sign to Tucepi. The easiest track is also the biggest one.
There are signs to Tucepi all the way. In the end you will walk close to the Adriatic Coastal Highway, and all of sudden the dirt road stops - now there is a tarmac road and a parking lot.
Now you can choose to walk back or ... we chose to go to the beach front and have a cup of coffee (double espresso, of course) before returning. The easiest way to Tucepi beach front is a very unofficial one, an almost invisible narrow dirt track, that runs opposite the parking lot downwards towards the sea side.
On your way back to Makarska you can choose to to do some Nordic walk gymnastics as some signs suggest. Or you can turn left where a sign leads to ‘Beach Plaza’. It’s Nugal Beach, a pretty little beach where you don’t need to wear clothes. Come on, try - it’s fun!
Have a nice walk!

We were drawn to walk this every day of our holiday, such lovely rugged scenery, a little difficult to negotiate in sandals in places but thoroughly enjoyed it, saw something different each day.

We had a couple of hours to use in the park. We had a toddler who needed a morning nap in her stroller. Although the park trails are well maintained, there are areas that are challenging, even for a sturdy stroller. We had to lift the stroller over the rockiest areas. Would recommend this short hike for families, but not necessarily for push chairs or strollers. We had a nice view down to the crystal clear water, but didn't dare to swim here because of the jagged rocks.

One of my favourite memories in Makarska was when my partner and I decided to walk the Park Suma O Sejava at sunset. We were the only ones there and again it was a lovely easy walk, even if the ground was rocky at points. It gave us wonderful views back to the harbour. I think you can walk for quite a distance if you'd like but we walked for maybe half an hour before turning back.

Lovely park at the East end of the harbour near the Osejava hotel. There are various tracks to take. We decided on taking one through the centre of the park to the next town along the coast (Tucepi), about 2.5 miles. The tracks are reasonably easy going with a few slopes/hills but nothing too strenuous. A nice walk along the front in Tucepi, beer in a local bar then back through the park taking more of the coastal tracks. Google maps most useful.

Very nice park near Makarska harbor with many trails to hike and jog. The upper trail offers nice view of the Biokovo mountains and beach trail dramatic sea views. The trails are steep with loose rocks, mostly with drop-off right next to you and there´s almost no fences or anything anywhere so you have to be really aware about the kids if travelling with family. And at the end of the beach trail there´s a nudist beach btw.

Good for a walk to clear your mind (or get over a hangover). The path by the sea has a great view of Makarska through the pine trees and there's a nudist beach further down the path. The paths aren't "polished" and are a bit rough, I wouldn't walk here in flip-flops.

Protect your love affair
In the west of the port Osejava, on the shores of the Adriatic, it is a park with pines, which has propitious for cycling paths and access to the beach a little spartan. In the port side of the park is a statue that protects a key. What is this statue? If you ask me, romantic kind, I have a theory: here arriving young lovers (and perhaps others fewer young but surely in love) that lock a padlock in the series of existing locks, knowing that their connection will be protected as long as there is this padlock. Enjoy an endless love!
