Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Medieval fort castle of Roman origin built by the ancient Frankopan family to defend the attacks coming from the sea. Different elements of construction influences: Romanesque, Renaissance, Gothic can be seen in the tower and the Lion of St. Mark attesting the Venetian conquest in the 1500’s. Awesome sea views from the parapets, the castle is just something nice to do in Curicum (ancient Roman name of Krk)

It is a wonderful visit to the island of Krk. Untouched nature, wonderful people and rich history make this place special. Architecture in the city of Krk is enchanting. Everything is built in stone like a castle, an exterior wall, a town hall, squares ... Beautiful. An interesting building is Francopan Castle. Frankopan Fortress Built from the XII. to XIV. century, as reported by Venetian rulers. The fortress had several purposes: protecting the town against attacks from the sea and the square tower was used as a courthouse. Wall height is 9 m. Atmosphere in the city of Krk is always beautiful and relaxing. It is worth visiting.

Krk fortress is still the same. It has nice position, very simple, basic exhibition and perfect view from the top. Fortress has walls all around and open yard inside the walls. You need to climb up to the high walls to look down the bay or to the inner city. Entrance tickets are too expensive for what they offer.

Entry is cheap and the custodian very friendly, letting us leave our buggy in reception. An open courtyard with two turrets to climb. Two single room exhibitions show historical clothes and weapons. Nice views from the turrets and section of wall you can walk on. One section of stairs up one of the turrets is really really dark, so make sure you have a torch on your phone, but it all adds to the adventure!

Nice castle maximum 30 minutes, exhibits are few and look to be copies, the view from the top is nice. Could be much more fun with buffed up exhibitons and some background and history.

There are two stair, leading to different viewpoints. Inside the castle there are just few old things exhibited. The stairs are a bit difficult in some parts if you are with small children. For them there is no fee. The view is very nice, as to the seaside as on the street, the square and the Cathedral.

Visited this small castle around lunchtime. Inside it was quite hot but up on the towers I got a nice view of the city and port. We even got a chance to swim into the castle from the sea.
