We stayed at the Valamar Zagreb Hotel and it was fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and it was only a short walk to the old town which was amazing. Everywhere we wen was spotlessly clean and so green.

Nice day out. Very quaint and lots of shops and restaurants. Narrow lanes and medieval squares. Hidden gems to explore. Worth half a day.

a lot will be closed as its outside the tourist season. However prices will go down and less tourists. Get a car and go on a few nice day trips into truffle country (motevun) and to pula.

Wide variety of restaurants to eat out with a wide range of prices.I wouldn't expect that you would have to pay a great deal more than eating out in Britain.
