We went on a quite hot day, and it was very nice to escape the heat underground. Most of the pathway is either damp metal stairs or steeply inclined pavement so, it is not great if you have mobility challenges. It was ok for our 3 year old daughter but, if your kids are much younger than that, you'll likely... More

Did you know that Postojna is not the only home of olm? We didn't until a friend has told us that olms live in a caves in the middle of Istria. It was a great experience with a nice guide. Our 5 years old son enjoyed as much as we had.

In this small cave we saw the Cave olm (Proteus anguinus) and beautifully decorated chambers in less than an hour. Guided tours start every 30 minutes (guide in many different languages). Temperature is 14 deg. C. For visitors of all ages.

After visiting a lot of caves in Croatia and surroundings I can say that this is one of the most interesting ones. The tour, as far as I can remember, takes you 60-70 meters in underground through four galleries. The lowest point of the cave isn't accessible without speleological gear but at the lowest accessible point you can see the... More

We spent great time in the cave. It is quite steep oging down and up so beware if you have any fear of heights. Entrance and all other area for visitors in the cave is very well made, but stairs on the entrance are steep and if it was rainy, slippery. Temperatures in the cave vary between 7C and 14C.... More

Well worth a visit to theses caves -the depth is awe inspiring and the experience fascinating with a knowledgeable and entertaining guide.Be prepared for lots of narrow steps and a long climb down (and back up) but well lit and with hand rails and well worth the effort. .

Thousands of years old some of the stalagmites and stalactites are fantastic. This is a must see for the person who is interested in caves. They are not suitable for people with poor mobility as the steps are very steep and you go the same way back as down. The tour quides are very good and knowledgable but also add... More
