Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My visit was made with a tour group in the evening. We first went to the indoor exhibit across the lane which was breathtaking. Heartbreaking but breathtaking also. Then, as it began to get truly dark we visited the eternal flame, white crosses and gravesite. This museum is a definite must see when in the area. So many innocent people killed.

The Homeland war in the 90s killed so many innocent people . This is in remembrance of those who were killed or murdered and buried in a mass grave. It is very well done and laid out. I love the cross symbol in the middle .

Important to remember those who died in this war of independence. The sadness is apparent, but there is a serene beauty too.

Calming place, beautifully decorated, full of meaning - dignified and emotional.
Be sure to visit if you come to Vukovar to pay tribute to the fallen Croatian defenders.

938 bodies were exhumed at the cemetery and 938 white crosses were erected at the site. These are the victims of the Croatian War of Independence. Very sad display, yet so powerful.
In the middle part of the cemetery, located on the east side of Vukovar is a monument where an eternal flame burns.

The cemetery has three sections. One for freedom fighters, one for families of freedom fighters and one for genocide victims. There is an eternal flame monument in the garden. There are something like 350 graves marked with simple white crosses to honor the unknown. It is known who some of the people are. There are many casualties that were never found. This is a reminder of the the futility and cost of war. It is beautifully groomed and visiting is a spiritual experience.
