A walk along the Malecon on just keeps on giving. The Torre Morisca is a Moorish Clock tower built in the 1930’s to house the first public clock, purchased from Europe in 1842, original located a top of the Colonial City Hall.

We climbed to the clock level and saw the innerworkings of the clock which were quite interesting. The view was wonderful.

Not sure what this tower is or what its significance is, but it is a romantic highlight on the Malecon 2000 and something that will make you stop and what to know more about it. I don't think you can go in, but it might...More

Very interesting to see for yourself the old clock's mechanism and the much-needed community service it gave when people did not have watches or were not synchronized.

This is a relatively small tower that you'll find on the esplanade of Malecon, slightly obscured by trees. At night, it's beautifully lit and even in the daytime, is worth seeking out as a good spot for some nice photos.

Another monument along the Malecon 2000 worth a visit both during the daytime and in the eve; they have it lit up during the eve and its pretty cool to see.

The tower is actually a multisided clock tower. It seemed strange to see such a strong Moorish presence in South America. Don't need a lot of time here, photo op and move on.

This free attraction is located at Malecón. You are able to climb to the top and see the workings of this old clock tower as well as get some good views. You must visit this and Malecón while in Guayaquil!

As you walk along the Malecon, you will come to this clock tower that has a long history. I first saw it in 1974 and it hasn't changed much, except that the clock has now been fixed so the time is now accurate more than...More
