The view is very impressive, the lake is amazing. But the name has nothing to do with what you see there: some houses on the lake. Ah, the hoses are a remake, nothing is original.

It is definitely must visit attraction in Ohrid.Especialy with children. Very picturescue. It is not authentic, but rebuilt really authentically. There is also a small coffeteria and bar in the museum, where You can enjoy the view drinking coffee beer or tasting ice-cream. Parking is above the bay of the bones. There You can leave the car for free, enter... More

This is an outdoor museum. The most interesting one that I have ever seen so far. It is an authentic reconstruction of a part of the pile-dwelling settlement, dating back between 1200 and 700 BC.

Near Ohrid, only two euros to get inside. A great scenery. It was like a fairy place. Defiantly a Must See

Bay of the Bones is the unusual name of this museum probably named for the number of animal bones and pottery fragments found on the site. It is a faithful reconstruction of a settlement of houses on stilts dating back between 1200 and 700BC. There is a small interesting exhibition of some of the relics, including a fascinating wall-sized photograph... More

This place offers extraordinary views. It's easy to get here with a car, taxi or a bus. There is a museum on the lake with recreated prehistoric life. Very interesting experience and fun attraction for everyone.

About 20 min from Ohrid by taxi - very reasonable price - or take a bus . Very interesting copy of prehistoric settlement . It's a good idea to find out more - history before . It takes maybe 30-45 min as the houses are very similar ,but as anywhere around the lake , the views are beautiful so you... More

Found it difficult to visit out of season by bus or water so hired a local taxi driver from Ohrid. The Bay of Bones Museum is superb to visit, a beautiful museum highlighting the way things were in prehistoric times. Lots of historical houses depicted as they were centuries ago and on stilts. With the Roman Fort above difinatly worth... More

It takes about 1/2 hour to visit the small museum and the recreated village. There is a snack bar and nice bathrooms in the museum building. They also sell reproduction pottery. Take some bread to feed the small fish as they all rush to eat, creating interesting patterns in the water.
